team. As expected we are sending best possible team, besides those athletes who are injured (Anna Kiełbasińska, Dariusz Kowaluk and Dominik Kopeć), not yet ready after pregnancy (Małgorzata Hołub-Kowalik) or Pia Skrzyrzowska who is focused on individual races on hurdles. I would want to see all 5 relays to be qualified, but 3 are most realistic, I wont be surprised if it will be even less after last week failures everywhere....

Its still somehow possible that we will have two quotas in mens individual sprint or its wishfull thinking?

Technically, Poland still has a chance. Don't lose hope.
I can't see us to beat Netherlands.

Win for Bibic now, women's team sprint quota for Canada, it will complete perfect day for them with men's team sprint quota now? Let see.......
-
Mexico beats France, Poland beats Germany in women's first round races, surprises, I'm hoping that surprises (positive for us) will happen in men's event too.

Its reported that our pairs which will fight for two quotas are Dawid Tomala/Katarzyna Zdziebło and Maher Ben Hlima/Olga Chojecka.

Good bye Olympics... However both Czechia and Canada arent favourites against GB and France either, I think..

How match ups are determined? 1st with 8th, 2nd with 7th and so on, or maybe different?

Canada have bigger chance for Paris than us, at least for now.

Points are awarded based on final placing. NOCs need to get into top 8 to progress to next round though
Thanks to Germany we will be in top8, but Canada and Czechia are higher than us now.... I'm hoping that our guys will race better in next hours. But this worse performance was somehow expected after recent financial and mental issues...
-
Stupid question, but points to ranking will be awarded after qualifications or after main competition?
-
Czechia is slower than Italy in qualification, I guess its good for us?

men's +102kg, Olympic Quota places: () and (Continental quota)
next in line: (given that will choose the -102kg class, is basically certain to be qualified, too)
Is that first quota for Iraq?

Angelika Cichocka (athletics, 800/1500m) announced her retirement today at age of 36. I'm sad that she never made a final race at Olympics and not win medal at Outdoor World Championships, she was one of best runners ever who never succeed to have a medal at the biggest events, mainly because often injuries.
And it's just beginning of the wave when our best athletes will announce retirement before/after Olympics this year
Also Zofia Noceti-Klepacka (windsurfing), silver medalist of London Olympics and multiple medalists of World Championships and European Championships announced the same decision like Angelika two days ago, though she will yet compete in few more events this year.

It seems like will be absent from OG in weightlifting for the first time since 1948
A historical collapse of the sport which is still third in our medal table haul (only behind athletics and boxing).
Weronika will start tomorrow or when?
