  1. Long story short: she was on the way from Austria (where she had been in quarantine until today) to Munich, to get tested three times there in the coming five days, starting today. Somewhere along the Austrian/Italian border (Vintl), the transfer we had booked for her (a minivan, her as only passenger) had an accident, a bad one, one might say. Sadly the driver didn't make it, and considering they hit a truck head-on, Bruna sitting in the back (to keep some distance) quite simply saved her life. Transported to the hospital by helicopter. Broken arm, two broken feet and an unknown number of broken ribs seems to be the damage. Which, considering the gravity of the accident, is barely short of a miracle. As for me, I'm at home in the Netherlands, which is where we are trying to get her as soon as possible (when medically allowed, of course). It has been a long day of back and forth contact with insurance and Brazilian federation and everything to see what can be done. But, again, the main thing is she's still with us.

  8. I would like to thank everyone who made this contest possible. @Sindo for maintaining the site, @OlympicIRL for their guidance, @dcro for their contributions, @vinipereira for the logo of the contest, @mrv86 for the draw tables. @hckošice @Cinnamon Bun @Cobi @Wumo for their participation in the draw. And of course I would like to thank all the jury members who participated in the contest. And as the jury member of Hungary I would also like to thank everyone who voted for our song. I never expected this song to reach the 6th place, that was the most surprising result of the contest for me. Thank you!

  9. The Official Logo Dear users of Totallympics, the wait for the official logo of the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest is finally over, just in time for the draw! The logo is the work of our great @vinipereira, thank you so much for your contribution! The inspiration behind the logo were Hungarian folk motives which very often feature birds and flowers. And there was one particular interpretation of our folk motives that we used as the main inspiration. It's the title card of a well-known Hungarian animated TV series which has adapted 100 Hungarian folk tales over the last 4 decades. The melody of this TV intro is firmly embedded in my head, it was probably one of the first things I saw on TV when I was a child, and the same must be true for many Hungarians. Both its design and melody are timeless and represent our traditions.

  11. The qualification window for Judo opened at the end of June and so far there have been 8 qualifying events staged - 2 Grand Slams, 1 Grand Prix and 5 Continental Opens. Annoyingly, the IJF haven't got their act together for the last couple of months and they haven't been publishing the Olympic Ranking list on their website. I've gone through the results from 7 of the 8 qualifying events - I haven't included the results of Tahiti Oceania Open - to generate my own tracker of current qualification position. Couple of caveats: 1) This only covers the top 17 in the rankings (and France as hosts) - it doesn't take into account the continental quotas 2) Russia are included in the list despite the fact that they haven't been competing on the tour. At the moment, the rankings are heavily driven by the results from the Grand Slams and Russia were included in and performed pretty well at the Ulaanbaatar GS. I guess with the World Champs taking place in Uzbekistan, there is a possibility that Russian judokas may be there too. In terms of the team event, at the moment, by my reckoning the following nations would be qualified: It's still early days and a lot will change will change before the end of the qualification window

  13. As I said during the first session, I came to this edition without any expectations. The most popular songs in Spain right now are not very interesting and I wanted to show something different of the Spanish culture. After searching for a while, I decided to go with a folk song in Galician, one of our three official regional languages (Galego, Català and Euskera/Basque) that was very close to represent us in Eurovision this year. To be honest I did not think this kind of music would be that appealing, but I am very happy with the result. I want to say thanks to all the jurors who voted for Tanxugueiras and also to everybody who took their time to listen to Terra: 12 - @kungshamra71 12 - @IoNuTzZ 12 - @Olympian1010 @dezbee2008 12 - @Illya 11 - @NikolaB 10 - @konig 10 - @Wanderer 10 - @justony 9 - @rybak 9 - @Belle 9 - @amen09 4 - @titicow 9 - @Federer91 5 - @Griff88 5 - @Hipooo 5 - @Ionoutz24 4 - @Benolympique @Bohemia 4 - @Fly_like_a_don 4 - @Ruslan 3 - @mrv86 1 - @Finnator123 And big thanks to our host @Vektor for organizing everything so perfectly. This was only my sixth edition participating but I can already imagine how difficult it has to be to prepare such enormous amount of templates, information, draws... I know I will not be as good host as you have been these weeks, but I can promise I will do my best to host the next edition... WELCOME TO ESPAÑA 2023! I can't forget to congratulate both @Cinnamon Bun@Quasit and @OlympicIRL for their medals. I have no idea how Tanxugueiras have finished above Ed Sheeran, but I guess that's the magic of this contest. And with this victory my next goal will be getting some points from and . After 6 editions these are the only 2 countries that I have never managed to receive a single point from (excluding Norway and those who only participated once) .

  15. So, bit of an update: Bruna had surgery on both her left arm and left foot today, which took roughly 2,5 hours. Apart from a minor complication regarding her CO2 levels, which they got under control, it seems as though it all went well. Most likely she will be allowed to leave on Wednesday, which probably means she'll be transported home and arrive here on Thursday somewhere at the end of the day. Someone from the Brazilian federation will be with her from tomorrow on and probably travel in the ambulance transport with her as well, something we are very grateful for (due to a quarantaine situation at home, we simply can't go there at the moment). Once she is here, the long, long road to recovery will start. That's probably going to be a matter of months, at least, but yeah...we've got time.

  18. Hello, everyone! First of all, congrats to all our Finnish users for a hockey win! I would like to be in Helsinki now!!! And secondly, looks like we have our polls-winner!!! Provisional rankings show that @Wumo won the whole thing. And that was pretty close - looks like the decisive move was predicting that Victoria Carl will finish 12th in 30k cross-country race. Man, how the fuck did you know that??? Congratulations @Wumo There is a bottle of best Polish vodka prepared for you. Well-frozen. You'll find it in the post. Enjoy! Congrats for @mrv86 and @phelps for the other medals. That was so close!!! Don't give up, maybe next season... But I would like to say it loudly that @Wumo is such a deserved winner here. I have written this earlier in these polls series, but I will repeat it now - I would like to THANK YOU for all the efforts in your prediction contests. I can see now how much time and work it takes, so big respect for you from me and all of us, I guess!!! I think there may be some minor mistakes in the peleton scores but a winner looks to be certain. If you find any mistakes, please let me know. You will find the provisional rankings table attached to this post in a doc file. I have promised a Super-Sunday for my family today, after all these 16 days in Beijing, so the final rankings with all these fancy flags&tags will be published rather later than sooner, forgive me that. It will be here altogether with all the behind-the-scenes reports, special honorary awards and doping violations summary. Thank you all for your participations, that was FUN!!! Have a good Sunday, everyone... and now let's only hope there won't be a war next week or later on... i am just too afraid to watch non-sporting news these days... how the fuck could we all get that close to this shit? so everyone, stay safe, please... Bye! 22.02.20 final poll.docx

  19. Hey! Thanks for asking 😊 I am doing well, recovering a little day by day. Arm, ribs, abdomen, shoulder and lungs still hurt but much less nowadays (painkillers are making their miracle everyday) My foot is the main thing for now, but the doctor said we will have to be patient with it, which means it will take time to recover. Not much about the broken bones, but the wounds (it still looks like a zombie foot 😬😅). But it will get better I need to keep it high as much as possible during the day and do not put any pressure on it. So, wheelchair it recovers. For sure, no trainings for me in a soon future. First goal is to get on my feet again. Watching the Olympics was painful in some moments (including today) but mostly I enjoyed seeing some friends doing well. I enjoy this reply to thank everyone who sent their good wishes since the accident happened. I wasn't able to reply at the moment, but I read everything and @heywoodu kept me updated too. Thank you so much for all kindness 💙💙💙 I am a totallyimpian not Olympian yet, but the word "yet" will drop off in 2026 😉 thank you all!

Congrats once again to @Bohemia and @Benolympique!

  22. Congratulations for the victory and @Hipooofor hosting the edition! Personally, I am very happy to get a 6th place with a song released in the 1960s. Thank you very much to the 16 jurors who voted for the song. As a curiosity, this has been my 7th participation and the 4th time I finish in 6th place (Open 2019, Open 2021, Open 2022 and Annual 2020). I don't know if I made the announcement yet, but I confirm that I will host the Annual edition next year. Hopefully you will have more information regarding dates in January since I need to make sure I will have enough time to prepare everything, but my idea is having the final in mid or late March since I will probably be very busy in April/May, which would make it impossible for me to dedicate enough time to host properly.

  25. Cleared all my covid tests and security checks, I'll be going to the Opening Ceremonies tonight! Long story short, I know someone who knows someone and our big group got whittled down for many reasons, but I finally was one of a few to make the final cut. Will also go to another event in a week and the Closing Ceremonies too (and Paralympic Ceremonies). It'll be a long day and we're not allowed to bring battery packs in, so I hope my phone lasts with all the pictures and updates. Didn't want to jinx anything by celebrating too early, especially in these covid times. So excited!

  28. I offer my congratulations to @Cobi on Spain's win and to @OlympicIRL, @Cinnamon Bun and @Quasit on their medals. I want to thank everyone who voted for Greece, I'm glad you liked our song. Also, thank you to our teammates in Gyor Rivers who helped us earn a 4th place in the team event. We were close to a medal there, but 4th place is a great result. And of course, a huge thank thank you to @Vektor who hosted a great contest throughout. This is how I voted. I can say I voted for all top three songs, but as I was the only one in our jury who voted for Spain and Ireland, my points were not enough for these songs to receive any points from Greece. Great Britain got our 12 points by earning a total of 21 points, 7 per jury member and that's despite @Makedonas didn't give any points. 9 points, 3 per jury member were needed for a 12th place finish. 1st 12 pts New Zealand 2nd 11 pts Great Britain 3rd 10 pts France 4th 9 pts Czech Republic 5th 8 pts Ireland 6th 7 pts Poland 7th 6 pts Germany 8th 5 pts Spain 9th 4 pts Sweden 10th 3 pts Denmark 11th 2 pts Italy 12th 1 pts Brazil Res1 Malta Res2 Croatia Res3 Romania

  29. Welcome to Hungary It's been a long journey since the opening of this thread and the start of the selection process but we are finally here. Welcome to the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest! Welcome to Hungary! I know what you are thinking. 30. Totallympics! Start Voting Now! I have sent my votes to our dear @Sindo, now it's your turn to decide who wins the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest. As always, please, do NOT post your votes in this thread, or any thread, send them to me via a personal message. The voting will close on April 23th at 23:59 CEST. I have made a simple table as a ballot for you to make the voting a bit easier, but it's not mandatory to use it. You got more than 10 days to vote, so you don't have to rush it, listen to the songs as many times as you want, just don't forget about the deadline. 1st 12 pts 2nd 11 pts 3rd 10 pts 4th 9 pts 5th 8 pts 6th 7 pts 7th 6 pts 8th 5 pts 9th 4 pts 10th 3 pts 11th 2 pts 12th 1 pts Res1 Res2 Res3 @konig@titicow@Federer91@intoronto@Vic Liu@Damian@dcro@Hipooo @Agger@Wumo@Finnator123@Bohemia@catgamer@Cinnamon Bun@Quasit@maestro @Makedonas@Yannakis@Fly_like_a_don@Griff88@OlympicIRL@Dnl@Gianlu33@Henry_Leon @Pablita@SteveParker@Ruslan@Werloc@Glen@mrv86@Ionoutz24@heywoodu @Wanderer@rybak@kungshamra71@IoNuTzZ@NikolaB@hckošice@justony @Cobi@Belle@amen09@Mehmet@Illya@dezbee2008@Olympian1010

  35. Introducing text about No. 1c "WHERE CAN I GO TO?" map of our tour PILSEN (Plzeň) Population: 168 449 p. The 4th biggest town in The Czech Republic. The city was founded in 976 as a fortress of the Přemysl princes. It was considered one of the three most important trade centers of the Czech lands (during the 14th century). In the 19th century, industry developed intensively here, there was created automobile brand Škoda or the famous brewery with beer brand Pilsner Urquell. Pilsen is located on undulating terrain, where the Berounka river is formed by the confluence of four smaller rivers (Mže, Radbuza, Úhlava and Úslava). The city is overflowing with beautiful architecture, I will only introduce you to the very basics. You can't miss St. Bartholomew's Cathedral because it has the highest church tower in the Czech Republic (102.26 m). Cathedral is in the Gothic style and it's located in the center of the city. The Franciscan monastery was founded in 1300. It is built mainly in the Renaissance style. The Franciscans were representatives of a minority order under the Roman Catholic Church. The monastery was heavily damaged during the Hussite siege (1433). The Great Synagogue is also located in Pilsen, which is the largest building of this type in the Czech Republic and the third largest in the world (after the ones in Jerusalem and Budapest). Before the start of the Second World War, the Nazis tried to bomb the synagogue, but the action failed. In 2014, the modern New Theater building was opened, which was built according to the design of Portuguese architects. The building is located near the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew. Although Pilsen is a culturally rich city, no significant sporting events are held here. However, the best Czech football team - FC Viktoria Plzeň - is based here. OLOMOUC (Olomouc) Population: 99 564 p. The 6th biggest town in The Czech Republic. An university town with great history. The city lies on the Morava River in an elongated fertile valley. It is the center of the cultural area of Haná. As early as 1253, it was declared a royal trading town, but continuous settlement of the area appeared as early as the beginning of the 11th century. The city is known for its archbishopric and the second oldest Czech university (Palacký's University) is also located here. The historical core of the city is made up of a former fortress, the foundations of which are still preserved today. It is the largest fortress in the Czech Republic, which was in operation from the end of the 13th century until 1886. Most of the city's monuments can be found on the territory of the fortress. In the middle of Upper Square there is a town hall with an astronomical clock. While the current form of the town hall was created in 1474, the astronomical clock was damaged during the Second World War. The new clock was created in 1955 with the theme of socialist realism. On the same square we can also find the Column of the Holy Trinity - the only UNESCO monument in Olomouc. The column was built by a group of Czech Baroque sculptors. It is so large and tall that you can go inside, where is a small chapel. This unique baroque work is the largest column and at the same time the largest sculpture in the Czech Republic. České Budějovice (České Budějovice) Population: 93 083 p. The 7th biggest town in The Czech Republic. King Přemysl Otakar II. founded the city in 1265. The city firstly fulfilled the function of diplomatic meetings between the House of Luxembourg and other families, then due to religious changes, the city became the target of conflicts. Today, the city is very interesting, especially from the architectural side. The Black Tower is originally a guard and signal tower from the 16th century. Today it is open to the public, above the clock there is a walkway with a view of the entire city. The Salt House is a smaller building that dates back to the Renaissance. It served as a warehouse for grain and later salt. The Rabenstein tower is one of the two preserved fortification towers from the 14th century. The tower was primarily used as a warehouse for weapons and gunpowder, then as a prison. Today you will find an exhibition of armor and historical weapons there. A representative of modern architecture is, for example, the Piano administrative center, built between 2016 and 2018. Hradec Králové (Hradec Králové) Population: 90 679 p. The 8th biggest town in The Czech Republic and also residence of @Hipooo!!! This city was originally a royal city, but king Wenceslas II. dedicated it to the Czech queens. It functioned as the commercial center of Eastern Bohemia and today it is also an important cultural and university center. The city is nicknamed the Salon of the Republic because the city center is filled with many buildings from the 20th century. Today, the city is world famous for its Petrof brand pianos. The White Tower is very similar to the Black Tower in České Budejovice because it was designed by the same person. You can also climb the White Tower and observe the view not only of the city, but with good visibility you can also see the highest point of the Czech Republic - Sněžka, which is almost 60 km from the city. The Museum of Eastern Bohemia is an Art Nouveau brick building with various permanent and seasonal exhibitions. Adalbertinum is a social house built at the end of the 19th century in a style with elements of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque. The building is used for social and cultural activities. The Ulrich Square is a place lined with functionalist buildings. Today, the Regional Directorate of the Police and ČSOB bank are located here. The Hučák hydroelectric power plant is located in the city center on the Elbe River. This Art Nouveau building has been in operation since 1912 and is supposed to protect the city from floods. YES THIS YEAR'S TOISC 2022 IS HELD RIGHT HERE!! Pardubice (Pardubice) Population: 88 188 p. The 10th biggest town in The Czech Republic with an important railway junction. The first mention of the town dates back to 1295, but it flourished only in the 19th century, when the town was connected to the railway. Since then there has been intensive industrial development and the population has rapidly doubled. Nowadays, Pardubice is famous for Pardubice gingerbread and the Velká Pardubická horse race. The Pardubice Castle is located in the city center and dates back to the Renaissance in 1491. The Municipal Theater is an Art Nouveau building built at the beginning of the 20th century. It is probably the most important theater in Eastern Bohemia. Karlovy Vary (Karlovy Vary) Population: 45 605 p. The 22nd biggest town in The Czech Republic and the biggest czech spa town. Karlovy Vary is not one of the largest cities in the Czech Republic, but it is nevertheless a regional capital and is known worldwide for its spa treatments. The town was founded in 1370 and is located in a relatively steep valley of the Ohře river. The hottest spring Vřídlo (72 °C) is located there. It also hosts an international film festival every year. The list of monuments is really wide. There are four spa buildings in the city (two of which are still spas today) and five colonnades. Since the city has been visited by a number of important figures throughout history, there are a large number of monuments and statues. On the outskirts of the city there are architecturally interesting lookouts, e.g. Goethe's viewpoint. There are a large number of hotels in the city, almost every one of them is in magnificent buildings of art nouveau and romantic style.

  38. Interesting contest Firstly: congratulations to @Vektor for one of if not the most technically executed contests, it was super easy and entertaining to follow, very smooth grand final. Congratulations to Spain for their first ever win and to Ireland and Great Britain for their continuous success in these contests to land on a podium yet again. Congratulations to our team, we did it @Agger @Wumo @catgamer @Glen I think it's very fun to share this victory with you since our team is pretty much comprised of the OG's that have been with TISC since the very beginning As for Lithuania, well 14th place is not bad, sad we didn't hit the 100 points, many jurors liked the Lithuanian song, but nobody loved it. I thought that I wouldn't enter a Gebrasy song again, but it's nearly three years since I'm working with my new producer and best friend Faustas and I just wanted to showcase something from that part of my life, though the biggest pain was deciding between "Where'd You Wanna Go?" and "Into Your Arms", though I'll never find out which would've been a correct decision We'll continue to release new music and we're already working on a single for Summer, it's going to be in Lithuanian, I gladly invite you to follow our journey, but for TISC, I think I'll much rather prefer to highlight other artists in our music scene.

  40. Goodbye Beijing - Hell.o Hungary Well, this is it. The competitions are over, the Olympic Games is ending once again. But don't be sad, we got another event to look forward to! The Totallympics Annual International Song Contest is here to cure your post-Olympic melancholy, so let's have some fun again, this time, for the first time ever, in Hungary! I am happy to announce that we have a host city! You must have heard of this beautiful Hungarian city if you follow handball or canoe sprint. It's the capital of Hungarian canoeing and has hosted the Canoe Sprint World Championships four times. It's the home of one of our strongest handball clubs, who have been participating in the Champions League for many years now. Yes, we are going south, next to the Hungarian-Serbian border, the host city of the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest is... Szeged Hm... we also need a venue for our event. It's a good thing that Szeged doesn't just have a long history in Hungarian sports but it's also the home of one of our long running cultural events, the Szeged Open-Air Festival, the largest outdoor theater in Hungary, which has been active since 1931. So the venue this time isn't an arena or a stadium, brace yourselves because we are going outside! (Let's hope that the weather will be kind to us.) The venue of the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest is... Dóm Square Now that we are done with the formalities, it's time for you to go through the selection process, to find the song that will represent your country in this year's contest. The selection window will be longer than two weeks this year because we won't start the voting before the closure of the Winter Paralympics. You will get plenty of time to decide, choose wisely.
