  1. Ladies and Gentleman, this is my 5,000 post. I didn’t want this occasion to go by without marking it, so get ready for this monster of a post. First, I’d like to reflect about my time on Totallympics: Growing up I was always an “outsider” or “misunderstood”. I didn’t have a lot of friends, and I didn’t share may of the interests other people my age had. I loved to talk politics, international sports, and life. I wasn’t really surrounded by people with those interests. There was a time, in middle school, where I seriously began to at least contemplate suicide. Luckily around the time I finished middle school and began high school, I found people who believed in me, and who liked me for me. However, even with my increased social participation, there was always something missing. No one I know wants to talk much about the Olympics, or the Commonwealth Games, or the Pan Am Games, or really about anything I was interested in. That all changed one spring day in early 2018 when I was browsing the internet looking for information about the Tokyo 2020 qualification process. I came across a website called Totallympics. I read what I believed to be the comments section at the time (mostly because I didn’t know much about forums), and saw a user complaining about how hard it would be for a Brazilian biathlete to qualify for the Olympics. I was immediately hooked from then on. It took me a while to understand this crazy new community that I was now a part. However, there isn’t a day that goes by where I’m not happy to be a Totallympics member. This forum completed me. It’s honestly helped me become a better person too through learning to interact with people who have vast differences in background. So, I’d like to thank all of you for being such great users, and for always (or at least most of the time) making me feel welcomed, and for giving me a place where I feel like I can be me. Second I’d like to share some memories with users: I’ll always remember being @heywoodu‘s new favorite user when I joined. I feel like that didn’t last long I used to hate @bestmen‘s complaints, comments, accusations, etc., but now I’ve grown to love them like a child loves a drunk uncle. They might be crazy, but it would feel the same if bestmen wasn’t around. Peter Sagan made my day as a little kid one time, so it’s always nice to have a fellow diehard supporter on the forum @hckosice. Plus, you’re one of the few users who just always seems to able to say the right thing to make everyone happy. You guys wouldn’t be my “online family” if we didn’t argue. I can always trust @heywoodu, @dcro, and @Monzanator to challenge my opinions and call me out when needed. I may often say things critical of you, but I still treasure your presence on this forum (even if you are wrong when I’m right ) I’d also like to give shoutouts to my fellow Americans who generally seem to understand where I come from, and always give me a nice sense of “home” @dezbee2008, @bmo, @Rdbc, @Maxim Fastovsky, @RobtheAggie I can also almost always count on @zob79 to throw out a dirty joke. He’s more of the dirty grandpa of the family. I never knew a lot of openly gay people growing up. Luckily I was taught tolerance from a young age. It blew my mind to see someone like @thiago_simoes be so open about it. The insights and opinions you’ve shared with me have been invaluable. I obviously like to give huge shoutouts to @Sindo, @vinipereira, and @hckosice for keeping this wonderful place running and for at least attempting to keep us all in line. Of course I’d also like to give a huge shoutout as well too my fellow Totallympics Media reporters @Vojthas and @mrv86. Lastly I’d like to give a wholehearted thanks to @Sindo, @Vojthas, @mrv86, @OlympicIRL, and @heywoodu for supporting me on my journey as a sports journalist. I’m sorry I couldn’t thank all the users who’ve made my time on here special, so here’s a special mention for you too @phelps, @ahjfcshfghb, @Federer91, @vlad, @Griff88, @MHSN, @Ustatsch, @Dolby, @Jan Linha, @ChandlerMne, @uk12points, @Grassmarket, @Gianlu33, @Wanderer, @wumo26, @Agger, @dareza, @intoronto, @NearPup, @JoshMartini007, @Laraja, @Belle, @Finnator123, @Function CR Lee, @Benolympique, @ofan, @AIFhg, @thepharoah, @amen09, @LDOG, @Jinzha, @opruh, and anyone else I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with that I can’t remember at the moment (sorry). Third, I’d like to talk about being a sports journalist: I feel in love with journalism during high school, and have has admired the likes of Inside The Games and Around The Rings. I made a name for myself around here as a replay archiver, but I always wanted to do more. I was lucky enough to meet @Vojthas who shared my passion for journalism and sport. He has taught me so much and is even currently at an event reporting for Totallympics Media (our first ever accreditation I might add). We were lucky enough to add @mrv86 to the team as well. This summer alone we made a podcast, and a fully functioning website for our organization. The later was only made possible @Sindo who I owe a huge thanks. I’d also like to thank all of you for your support, and ask that you continue to check in on Totallympics Media. Fourth, I’d like to celebrate my 5,000 post by looking at some of my personal highlights. I have a community reputation of: 1,355 (and I never thought I’d ever reach, let alone pass 1,000) In reactions I’ve received: 358 Luaghs 163 Trophies 70 Cries 53 Wows 16 Loves “Facts”: I’ve “won” 27 days. I have 129 pages worth of reactions and comments. I have 148 attachments. I am (or will be) a Totallympics Gold Medalist and 2 time reputation Gold Medalist. Trivia: My user icon has been a flower for at least year. I am a Senior Reporter at Totallympics Media. I am from the United States. My real name is Matt. The first sport I played was Baseball. I competed as a distance runner for 9 years. I’ve worked as a volunteer at major international sports events like the 2017 Weightlifting World Championships. I currently practice the sports of Roller Speed Skating and Sport Climbing. I have been to Canada, The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos, and Mexico (and soon to be Japan and Austria). Lastly, I’d like to say: Cheers to 5,000 posts and here’s to 5,000 more . Thank You All!

  2. Long story short: she was on the way from Austria (where she had been in quarantine until today) to Munich, to get tested three times there in the coming five days, starting today. Somewhere along the Austrian/Italian border (Vintl), the transfer we had booked for her (a minivan, her as only passenger) had an accident, a bad one, one might say. Sadly the driver didn't make it, and considering they hit a truck head-on, Bruna sitting in the back (to keep some distance) quite simply saved her life. Transported to the hospital by helicopter. Broken arm, two broken feet and an unknown number of broken ribs seems to be the damage. Which, considering the gravity of the accident, is barely short of a miracle. As for me, I'm at home in the Netherlands, which is where we are trying to get her as soon as possible (when medically allowed, of course). It has been a long day of back and forth contact with insurance and Brazilian federation and everything to see what can be done. But, again, the main thing is she's still with us.

  7. Unfortunately I got infected through my roommate who came back from Austria about 1,5 week ago after the town he visited got quarantined due to a Corona outbreak. He and all of his friends he went on the trip with all got sick after returning to the Netherlands. Fortunately, my roommate has already recovered in full and I'm slowly recovering as well, and luckily we both only had mild symptoms. However, I've been locked inside with my roommate for more than a full week now and I'm already slowly going crazy. We can't even go outside to buy groceries or medication and have to rely on friends and family to drop that off at the door. Although I'm very thankful for everyone's support, I can't wait to go outside again in a few days when I'm fully recovered, even if it's only a 5-minute walk to the nearest supermarket.

  9. The theme of the official logo is Symphony of Nature, or rather, Symphony of the Sea. There are several elements to it. Most prominent are the sea and sand in the background. They represent the Croatian coastline. With an estimated length of 6000 km and counting more than 1000 islands, the Croatian coastline is known for its rugged nature. The boat floating on the top represents harmony. Finally, we have the music sheets written on waves together with several notes thrown around. They indeed represent the Symphony of the Sea. How does the Symphony of the Sea sound like? Well, one way to find out is by going to Zadar. More specifically to its Sea Organ. The Sea Organ is an experimental musical instrument which creates the sound by the sea waves crashing into empty pipes located underneath the large marble steps. In its essence, the Sea Organ allows the nature to take over a role of conductor. The sea tends to become melancholic on a rainy day. The logo is courtesy of @vinipereira. Join us for the Opening Ceremony in two days. Grand Final will be held Saturday, while the Closing Ceremony (incl. Medal Presentations) will close out the weekend.

  10. Continuing with the South American theme this night, the Organizing Committee is proud to finally unveil the logo for the Totallympics Annual International Contest 2018. The main figure for this logo, the arara-vermelha (Red-and-green macaw) is a large species widespread in the forests and woodlands of northern and central South America, especially in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. However - in common with other macaws - there has been a decline in its numbers due to habitat loss and illegal capture. With the use of its image here at the logo, we hope to raise awareness to this fact, but also celebrate its beauty. In the logo, the bird is combined with musical waves (to bring a music element) that also resembles the Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio. Ladies and gentleman, the official logo of TISC 2018:

  11. She isn't really able to answer anything here since she can only use one hand for now. Fine for voice messages, not so much for typing. But she asked me to write here that she had a quick look and is very very grateful for all the wishes and messages here! So, thank you all on Bruna's behalf!

  14. Saturday arrives, you are ready for another TISC extravaganza, the banter is plenty, the drinks are flowing, but there is a spectre of that most terrifying demon haunting us. No, no, no, silly @heywoodu, I am not talking about olives. I am not even referring to those Antarctic fiends that we love to hate. No this is a nightmare that is much more terrifying... the dreaded "nul points". Not until we receive those first comforting points can we truly breathe a sigh of relief and settle into the contest. So what happens if you find yourself in that lonely position on Saturday where you are alone at the foot of the table with a duck egg for company? Juries come and juries go but no points have fallen in your basket. Well, fear no more, I have the very post for you to banish those demons so bookmark this post and share with your friends at their time of need. Indeed, if things go badly on Saturday then yes, please please send me this link Reasons to be cheerful 1, 2, 3: No nation has ever officially finished with nul points at TISC. Every single one of the 508 songs which officially participated in the contest has scored points from a national jury. We have yet to leave anyone behind. Lebanon looks away The song which was the last to score points in the contest has NEVER finished in last place in the final rankings! Songs which were the last to score points can and have gone on to achieve great feats such as receiving 12 pointers and even finishing in the top 10 in the overall ranking. Romania's 8th place finish at TISC Open 2019 is testament to that. If that isn't enough to keep your head up then let's look specifically at this edition, TISC Open 2020 for more reasons to be hopeful. TISC is littered with superheroes, ready to save those nations who look doomed to a fate of nul points. Let's take a look at the list of "Lois and Clark"s of years gone by..... Jury # Superhero Damsel(s) in Distress TISC Open 2013 19 Poland Slovakia TISC Annual 2014 10 Montenegro BUL GUY IND MAR TISC Open 2014 21 Azerbaijan Bulgaria TISC Annual 2015 16 Netherlands Czech Republic TISC Open 2015 24 Romania Azerbaijan TISC Annual 2016 14 Spain Kazakhstan TISC Open 2016 6 Czech Republic Italy Poland TISC Annual 2017 12 Moldova India Russia TISC Open 2017 17 Slovakia Algeria TISC Annual 2018 15 Algeria Azerbaijan TISC Open 2018 13 Egypt Tunisia TISC Annual 2019 17 Argentina India TISC Open 2019 7 Malta Moldova Romania Tunisia TISC Annual 2020 11 Tunisia Kazakhstan TISC Open 2020 ? ? ? So the first 2 sessions have concluded, 14 juries have cast their votes but your song is still out in the cold on zero points? Well as we learned earlier, in as many as half of the contests to date, at least 1 song has been waiting longer than 14 juries to receive their very first points. So no reason to panic just yet. But naturally, your demons are growing by now, you are convinced you will be the exception to the rule? Well the middle order is packed full of proven superheroes to help pick you up and get you on your feet: Slovakia (Jury #14) Tunisia (Jury #16) Romania (Jury #17) Argentina (Jury #18) Netherlands (Jury #22) Not to mention the votes of (Jury #21) which is usually a bonanza for the lower-ranked songs. If after this batch of heroes have been dispatched and you are still in peril, then remember, Azerbaijan did not receive their first score until the 24th jury at TISC Open 2015 and better still they did not even finish last. And guess who we have voting in jury position #24? Yes it's New Zealand . If you are on zero points then you are surely in with a chance of arousing the attention of @Wanderer's radar. Ok, so is it time to panic after the 24th jury has passed and you are still on the brink of zero points? The next pair of superheroes will be dispatched: Egypt (Jury #26) Czech Republic (Jury #30) Ok so things are beginning to look bleak but there is still 5 juries to go! 5 more chances to catch the eye of a potential new hero. And to cap it all we have a proven superhero in Malta to round out the voting in a final attempt to save your blushes. So, we have run out of superheroes, run out of juries and if you have come this far then we have failed you and that would be a TISC first. And if that happens we will be there to give you a hug (socially distanced of course), and remind you that we are there to pick you up and carry you on to the next TISC adventure.

  15. Some very personal thoughts for someone's first time as host: As first time host I did not really know what to expect. I had only previously been a spectator to one TISC and participated in one other, so my TISC-experience was quite small. Fortunately for me, I have had Agger as co-host who has participated many times in TISC and hosted one previously. I knew they were a lot preparation done before a TISC even opens. The most demanding thing during the preparation process was to come up with ideas and an a concept for this TISC. I'm not a person filled with many creative ideas, so this process felt at time frustrating. For me, I felt I had to live up to many different expectations from the users here on the forum. But due to not being overly creative, I often ended up being frustrated with myself. I began to question if I was a good enough host. It even develop into thinking if I was good enough as a person. TiSC and my studies took so much of my time that I did not have time to just sit down and relax. I was really stressed and I couldn't sleep much. This could not go on for much more time. One day, I sat down and said to myself, "Stop blaming yourself and try to live up to everybody's exceptions. Don't think you have to create something new, use ideas you like and adjust them to your liking". After this, I was much more at peace with myself. I started to believe in my own ideas and I didn't care if I used an idea someone had used before. It was okay. When the Grand Final ended yesterday evening/night, I cried, It had been such an emotional rollercoaster for me. All what I have written above seems to tell that I should have said stop during the process before it came to me questioning myself, and yes I should have probably done that, but I didn't. Instead I have been through a personal process where I have learned to accept my own limits. I never thought hosting a song contest on a sports forum would learn me something about my own personal life. I don't think my story is at all a good representaton of hosting an edition of TISC. Don't be scared to host. it's fun when your product is finally done, but it can feel frustrating during the process. TISC is, after all, about trying to create a stronger community here on Totallympics. I will give a special thank you to @Agger, @OlympicIRL and @vinipereira. Thanks to @Agger for the help preparing for TISC as co-host. Credits to his work on the presentation of the different cities and towns. Thanks to @OlympicIRL for his help with different ideas, especially his idea for a point format for the TISC Team Challenge. Thanks to @vinipereira for his help with the design of the logo. It would not have been possible without you. And lastly, thanks to all who have been so kind to have shown their interest and passion for TISC once again

  17. I would like to thank everyone who made this contest possible. @Sindo for maintaining the site, @OlympicIRL for their guidance, @dcro for their contributions, @vinipereira for the logo of the contest, @mrv86 for the draw tables. @hckošice @Cinnamon Bun @Cobi @Wumo for their participation in the draw. And of course I would like to thank all the jury members who participated in the contest. And as the jury member of Hungary I would also like to thank everyone who voted for our song. I never expected this song to reach the 6th place, that was the most surprising result of the contest for me. Thank you!

  18. The Official Logo Dear users of Totallympics, the wait for the official logo of the 2022 Totallympics Annual International Song Contest is finally over, just in time for the draw! The logo is the work of our great @vinipereira, thank you so much for your contribution! The inspiration behind the logo were Hungarian folk motives which very often feature birds and flowers. And there was one particular interpretation of our folk motives that we used as the main inspiration. It's the title card of a well-known Hungarian animated TV series which has adapted 100 Hungarian folk tales over the last 4 decades. The melody of this TV intro is firmly embedded in my head, it was probably one of the first things I saw on TV when I was a child, and the same must be true for many Hungarians. Both its design and melody are timeless and represent our traditions.

  19. Tokyo 2020 is coming to an end, I hope you enjoyed following them here in Totallympics! I know not everything was perfect, there were some nightly downs of the forum in the first days and some posts had to be deleted because of abusive behavior by certain users, but I think this is something will always happen on a populated forum. As always, since tomorrow the focus will switch to Beijing 2022 and Paris 2024, we want to be the first to start following the 2024 Olympic qualifications so I hope after some days of Olympic detoxification you will all be back on Totallympics and follow sports with us! In the next weeks, there will be some little forum’s software updates which I postponed to avoid problems just before the Olympics, and we will also move on a stronger server, to avoid forum’s down during traffic’s peaks. I will also have lots of hosting space, so I have thought I can create national sub-domain forums for the nations with lots of users who think their national thread is not enough. For example, I will try to launch https://italia.totallympics.com/, where Italian fans will have their own forum, in the same format of Totallympics but only for Italian fans who can write in Italian. This will allow the Italian community to grow independently in their own forum, and I’m sure Italians who want to interact with the rest of the world will keep using the “international” Totallympics as they are doing now. The great advantage comparing to the National threads is that everything would be more organized, with sections, threads etc., just like here. I chose the Italian example because I know how and where to search for Italian fans interested in the forum. But if any of you is interested I can create other nations’ sub-domains. I will setup the forum in the same format of Totallympics, then of course I would need one person (or more) who will take care of that forum and its development. You don’t need to be skilled with information technology because dealing with the forum is really simple and I could help you, the “difficult” part would be to start a community from scratch. That’s why I am mostly thinking to nations which already have lots of users on Totallympics, but if you are a country’s single member and you know how to bring your country’s people on the national forum once this will be ready, then we can obviously give a try. I think for many countries there are Facebook groups of Olympic fans or some small Olympic forums/websites here and there, and if you can potentially “move” them on Totallympics national forum then it would be easy for your community to grow, and then more people would start joining the forum when they find it on google. It will not be easy, but it might be an exciting experience and not a lot of your time is needed for that. So if any of you is interested to be the “community manager” (this word might be exaggerated, linkedin style ) of her/his country, feel free to contact me anytime via private message and we will start talking about the plan. I will not be able to pay you for that role, but of course I would give you the hosting for free so you would have no expenses of any sort, and you can always count on my help. Thank you everyone who contributed here during Tokyo 2020 and get ready for the next Olympic cycle!

  21. Welcome to TOISC 2020! Less than a year ago, Caro Emerald's Liquid Lunch provided the Dutch TISC Team with a rather liquid dinner by making history as the first ever winner from The Netherlands. Therefore the TOISC 2020 will be held in The Netherlands, which of course is a first as well. The organizing committee would like to invite each and everyone on Totallympics to join the tradition that is TISC and participate in this year's contest, to be held in the beautifully located city of...not yet. The Netherlands may be rather small, we've got plenty of cities. Big cities, unless you compare them with Tokyo and São Paulo, small cities, unless you compare them with Adamstown and Ngerulmud, and a whole lot in between. Amsterdam assumed they were going to get the honours, because according to Amsterdam, nothing is better than Amsterdam and everything Amsterdam has to offer. Logically, it's not going to be Amsterdam, because plenty of places are a lot more suitable for the festival that is TOISC. "Ha! It's not Amsterdam, surely it's going to be us", said Amsterdam's eternal rival Rotterdam. You'll get a nice bit of getting your head bashed in if you say so to either side, but obviously Amsterdam and Rotterdam are basically just one and the same and so it ain't gonna be either of them. "Fantastic news, that means we...", nope. The Hague's attempt remains a futile one. Same stuff, different location (slightly) and that's just not going to cut it. They may have tons of embassies, they're not getting TOISC. The main square in Amsterdam, with clear evidence that nobody wants to be there There are not that many major cities left, but Utrecht is a big one. If the Tour de France gives it a try, surely it's good enough for TOISC? Nice attempt and we are in fact getting closer, but with the big three looming around the corner, we'd better move away. On to Eindhoven then? They make light bulbs like no other, but their lives get turned entirely upside down for a week when Carnival comes peeking around the corner and we just need something a bit more...down-to-earth. "Eindhoven the craziest", they say. Too bad. "Nothing goes above Groningen!", the saying goes in, well, Groningen. The towns above Groningen surely dare to disagree and we are going to join them: it's a decent city, but other than - and including - student life...why go there? Tilburg has Eindhoven's Carnival problem, the committee would rather take over Ngerulmud and hold TOISC there than setting foot in Almere, Breda joins Eindhoven and Tilburg and Nijmegen...well, big events centered on that city tend to have a bit of a negative outcome. The sad joke that is Eindhoven. And Tilburg. And Breda. We ain't going to the province of Brabant That's the first ten Dutch cities in terms of population down the drain, wonderful, because that means we've arrived at our destination. Ladies and gentlemen, TOISC 2020 will be held in Apeldoorn! Unlike is often the case, the choice is not made mostly based on the city itself, as much as it is based on the beautiful location and surrounding. You'll get to know this area better in the coming weeks, but everyone who loves enjoying nature will be taken care of and locations for the delegations to stay will be announced. The event will be held in Omnisport Apeldoorn, where the cycling track's stands can hold a good amount of people and the track itself will be used to give everyone some extra space in these times of distance. The small infield will be transformed into a stage, so that everyone can enjoy the show. Welcome to Apeldoorn 2020 and feel free to announce your participation! The majestic Omnisport Apeldoorn, home of all kinds of sports - and TOISC 2020!

  24. Hello everyone, the post-Olympic year is going to finish and a new sports year is going to start, a year with the Winter Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup and the first Olympic Qualifications for Tokyo 2020, which hopefully you will all follow on Totallympics and more people will join us before, during and after the events. A special thank you to the 6 users who last year subscribed to the Premium Membership, allowing me to have some extra motivations during the last year when my motivations to keep up the project were a bit low. So thank you @Prashanth, @nitinsanker, @OlympicIRL, @hukbrazil, @heywoodu and @Pavlo for your gesture. Now that I have more motivations, I was able to reduce the costs of hosting the website and I am able to pay most of them with the money I receive from the ads (which is very few, but still enough to cover most of the costs), the Premium Membership and the donations are not necessary anymore and Totallympics is free for everyone again. So you are all now allowed to add your own signature in your profile, which will be shown after each of your posts. As always, everyone can help Totallympics to grow trying to get more users from his/her own nation on national forums/social networks/communities and a way to do so is to make your National Thread active (see Serbia and India, more users attract more users as everywhere around the web) and I wish in the future every national community on the forum can get bigger

  26. As I said during the first session, I came to this edition without any expectations. The most popular songs in Spain right now are not very interesting and I wanted to show something different of the Spanish culture. After searching for a while, I decided to go with a folk song in Galician, one of our three official regional languages (Galego, Català and Euskera/Basque) that was very close to represent us in Eurovision this year. To be honest I did not think this kind of music would be that appealing, but I am very happy with the result. I want to say thanks to all the jurors who voted for Tanxugueiras and also to everybody who took their time to listen to Terra: 12 - @kungshamra71 12 - @IoNuTzZ 12 - @Olympian1010 @dezbee2008 12 - @Illya 11 - @NikolaB 10 - @konig 10 - @Wanderer 10 - @justony 9 - @rybak 9 - @Belle 9 - @amen09 4 - @titicow 9 - @Federer91 5 - @Griff88 5 - @Hipooo 5 - @Ionoutz24 4 - @Benolympique @Bohemia 4 - @Fly_like_a_don 4 - @Ruslan 3 - @mrv86 1 - @Finnator123 And big thanks to our host @Vektor for organizing everything so perfectly. This was only my sixth edition participating but I can already imagine how difficult it has to be to prepare such enormous amount of templates, information, draws... I know I will not be as good host as you have been these weeks, but I can promise I will do my best to host the next edition... WELCOME TO ESPAÑA 2023! I can't forget to congratulate both @Cinnamon Bun@Quasit and @OlympicIRL for their medals. I have no idea how Tanxugueiras have finished above Ed Sheeran, but I guess that's the magic of this contest. And with this victory my next goal will be getting some points from and . After 6 editions these are the only 2 countries that I have never managed to receive a single point from (excluding Norway and those who only participated once) .

  28. So, bit of an update: Bruna had surgery on both her left arm and left foot today, which took roughly 2,5 hours. Apart from a minor complication regarding her CO2 levels, which they got under control, it seems as though it all went well. Most likely she will be allowed to leave on Wednesday, which probably means she'll be transported home and arrive here on Thursday somewhere at the end of the day. Someone from the Brazilian federation will be with her from tomorrow on and probably travel in the ambulance transport with her as well, something we are very grateful for (due to a quarantaine situation at home, we simply can't go there at the moment). Once she is here, the long, long road to recovery will start. That's probably going to be a matter of months, at least, but yeah...we've got time.

  32. Hi everyone, This is a sad day for TISC. We have rules in place and some rules you never ever want to enforce and hope that you won't need and hope they are just there for guidance. Sadly today I will be enforcing rule 7(f). I had been in contact with @Sindo in recent days as I felt things were taking a turn for the worst. When bestmen refused to acknowledge Israel's entry, I had to add that to the first post myself and I told Sindo that my red line is if bestmen removes Israel from the list once more or goes on another rant then he would have to be stripped of hosting duties. On top of that, I have no choice but to disqualify him from TISC entirely. To deny another user the right to participate is a totally unacceptable move and it means that we cannot consider him to be a fair judge of other users and songs. As for the future of this contest, TISC Annual 2020 will go ahead, no doubt about that. I won't make any decisions yet about how soon or hosting, I need some time to think it over as do we all. Apologies to everyone.

  34. The qualification window for Judo opened at the end of June and so far there have been 8 qualifying events staged - 2 Grand Slams, 1 Grand Prix and 5 Continental Opens. Annoyingly, the IJF haven't got their act together for the last couple of months and they haven't been publishing the Olympic Ranking list on their website. I've gone through the results from 7 of the 8 qualifying events - I haven't included the results of Tahiti Oceania Open - to generate my own tracker of current qualification position. Couple of caveats: 1) This only covers the top 17 in the rankings (and France as hosts) - it doesn't take into account the continental quotas 2) Russia are included in the list despite the fact that they haven't been competing on the tour. At the moment, the rankings are heavily driven by the results from the Grand Slams and Russia were included in and performed pretty well at the Ulaanbaatar GS. I guess with the World Champs taking place in Uzbekistan, there is a possibility that Russian judokas may be there too. In terms of the team event, at the moment, by my reckoning the following nations would be qualified: It's still early days and a lot will change will change before the end of the qualification window

  36. Hello, everyone! First of all, congrats to all our Finnish users for a hockey win! I would like to be in Helsinki now!!! And secondly, looks like we have our polls-winner!!! Provisional rankings show that @Wumo won the whole thing. And that was pretty close - looks like the decisive move was predicting that Victoria Carl will finish 12th in 30k cross-country race. Man, how the fuck did you know that??? Congratulations @Wumo There is a bottle of best Polish vodka prepared for you. Well-frozen. You'll find it in the post. Enjoy! Congrats for @mrv86 and @phelps for the other medals. That was so close!!! Don't give up, maybe next season... But I would like to say it loudly that @Wumo is such a deserved winner here. I have written this earlier in these polls series, but I will repeat it now - I would like to THANK YOU for all the efforts in your prediction contests. I can see now how much time and work it takes, so big respect for you from me and all of us, I guess!!! I think there may be some minor mistakes in the peleton scores but a winner looks to be certain. If you find any mistakes, please let me know. You will find the provisional rankings table attached to this post in a doc file. I have promised a Super-Sunday for my family today, after all these 16 days in Beijing, so the final rankings with all these fancy flags&tags will be published rather later than sooner, forgive me that. It will be here altogether with all the behind-the-scenes reports, special honorary awards and doping violations summary. Thank you all for your participations, that was FUN!!! Have a good Sunday, everyone... and now let's only hope there won't be a war next week or later on... i am just too afraid to watch non-sporting news these days... how the fuck could we all get that close to this shit? so everyone, stay safe, please... Bye! 22.02.20 final poll.docx

  37. Hey! Thanks for asking 😊 I am doing well, recovering a little day by day. Arm, ribs, abdomen, shoulder and lungs still hurt but much less nowadays (painkillers are making their miracle everyday) My foot is the main thing for now, but the doctor said we will have to be patient with it, which means it will take time to recover. Not much about the broken bones, but the wounds (it still looks like a zombie foot 😬😅). But it will get better I need to keep it high as much as possible during the day and do not put any pressure on it. So, wheelchair it recovers. For sure, no trainings for me in a soon future. First goal is to get on my feet again. Watching the Olympics was painful in some moments (including today) but mostly I enjoyed seeing some friends doing well. I enjoy this reply to thank everyone who sent their good wishes since the accident happened. I wasn't able to reply at the moment, but I read everything and @heywoodu kept me updated too. Thank you so much for all kindness 💙💙💙 I am a totallyimpian not Olympian yet, but the word "yet" will drop off in 2026 😉 thank you all!

Ladies and gentlemen, this is it: As you can see there is white stork (it was reason why I presented the White Storks team as last). As you could read earlier today this bird is one of the Polish animal symbol as over 25% of all storks is living here by most of the year. With Poland's national flag in the background. But it isn't just flag, the red part of logo is as well water over which the stork is flying and on the white part of the flag you can see blades of grass. Simply, the white stork is flying over one of the hundrends Masurian lakes. It's song contest, so the notes couldn't be missed in the logo as well. This year contest motto is "Let the notes fly!" I want say a big thank you to @Olympian1010 who helped created this stunning logo and idea for the motto. Thank you so much! The opening ceremony which is scheduled for Friday, April 16th will take place in Moszna Palace in small village Moszna. The Moszna Palace is a historic castle and palace located in the small village of Moszna, in southwestern Poland. Situated approximately 30 kilometres south of the regional capital Opole, the residence is an excellent example of romantic fairy-tale and eclectic architecture. The history of this building begins in the 18th century, although traces of older cellars were discovered in the gardens during excavation and reconstruction works at the beginning of the 20th century. Some of the those could have been remnants of a presumed Templar stronghold. The central part of the castle is an old baroque palace which was partially destroyed by fire on the night of April 2, 1896 and was reconstructed in the same year in its original form by Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler (the son of Hubert von Tiele-Winckler). The reconstruction works involved an extension of the residence. The eastern Neogothic-styled wing of the building was built by 1900, along with an adjacent orangery. In 1912-1914, the western wing was built in the Neo-Renaissance style. The architectural form of the castle contains a wide variety of styles, thus it can be generally defined as eclectic. The height of the building, as well as its numerous turrets and spires, give the impression of verticalism. The whole castle has exactly ninety-nine turrets. Inside, it contains 365 rooms with a total floorage of 7,000 sq. m. and a cubic capacity of about 65,000m The castle was twice visited by the German Emperor Wilhelm II. His participation in hunting during his stay at the castle was documented in a hand-written chronicle in 1911 as well as in the following year. After World War II the castle did not have a permanent owner and was the home of various institutions until 1972 when it became a convalescent home. Later it became a Public Health Care Centre for Therapies of Neuroses. Nowadays it can be visited by tourists since the health institution has moved to another building in the neighbourhood. The castle also has a chapel which is used as a concert hall. Since 1998 the castle housed a gallery in which works of various artists are presented at regular exhibitions. Apart from the castle itself, the entire complex includes a park which has no precise boundaries and includes nearby fields, meadows and a forest. Only the main axis of the park can be characterised as geometrical. Starting from the gate, it leads along the oak and then horse-chestnut avenues, towards the castle. Further on, the park passes into an avenue of lime trees with symmetrical canals running along both sides of the path, lined with a few varieties of rhododendrons. The axis of the park terminates at the base of a former monument of Hubert von Tiele-Winckler. On the eastern side of the avenue there is a pond with an islet referred to by the owners as Easter Island. The islet is planted with needle-leaved shrubs and can be reached by a Chinese-styled bridge. The garden, as part of the whole park complex was restored slightly earlier than the castle itself. Preserved documents of 1868 state that the improvement in the garden's aesthetic quality was undertaken by Hubert von Tiele-Winckler.
