first ever medal for in the Pairs competition. Conti & Macii just stormed into our team and quickly climbed the rankings up to this unexpected, wonderful result (also in terms of scoring, they are always improving big time, adding more and more diffcult elements to their program and skating every time better than ever). I hope they keep improving day after day, until they finally get the Olympic medal at home in 3 years time.3 points

It's honestly scary how many people don't have a strong position against Belarus and Russia entering sport competitions. If they managed to take over Ukraine, then the Baltics would've probably been swallowed too and their friends in the East would've probably started a crusade on their neighbouring country. We would be in an all-out war and sports would be the last thing on our minds Not letting them compete is the least we can do, when Ukraine is keeping the world safe.1 point

Russian Athletes and Teams pathway to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
Giovanni Gianni Cattaneo reacted to phelps for a topic
Fencing have reinstated them, too (quali were supposed to start in April, but so far the first tournaments have been cancelled because of that possible return of Russians and Belarussians). World Athletics instead has just confirmed earlier Today that Russians and Belarussians will be denied any international competition entry until the war goes on.1 point -

Road Cycling 2023 Discussion Thread
hckošice reacted to Olympian1010 for a topic
I like reading through some of the old multi-sports games/Olympics threads every once and a while, and I came across a real gem from the 2016 road cycling thread today. Do you know what became of that guy @hckošice? I haven’t heard much lately. He’s probably just happy to have finished in the top 10 at the Olympics1 point -
Ah yes, then there is a loser bracket iirc from previous years to determine the last few spots. Of Note +80 and +67 have only 10 quotas each.1 point

World championship specialists Team Tirinzoni has 28 straight match wins in world championships. In the WCH 2021, 2022 and 2023, they have so far lost one game (against Hasselborg) out of 35 in this sport of small margins.1 point

Could be one of the worst ends Anna Hasselborg has ever played (at least from what I've seen). Germany take FIVE stones and win 9-3 with one end scratched. Polish commentator said the Jentzsch rink lost 11 straight matches vs Hasselborg before?1 point -

Hey hey! Top 5! Thanks to all that voted for and congrats to , well deserved. Here is a look at my Top 12 and reserves. Mexico was my favorite, of course. I thought Sweden and Malta were really nice songs. Spain and Italy had great entries and tied for fourth on my list (my decision to give Spain the 9 points resulted in the "Spain 12" meme). Then the English-language songs took over. Bulgaria was so different from the others I ended up liking it. New Zealandʻs entry was more my type of music. A mix of country and western with blues. The Indonesian yetis (??) got me and Great Britain sneaked in the top 12 over . Stats wise, I only voted for 2 songs that made the Top 10, but voted for 5 that finished bottom 10. Sad I missed all of the fun. @Cobi tremendous hosting and Iʻll see you in Italy!1 point
