  2. Russian propaganda still going strong. This is what they claim is a weather report from Polish TV Obviously it is NOT. Someone tell Putin we use the letter "Ł" in Slovakia and "Ś" in Belarus or "Ó" in Kiev & Lviv, or "Ń" in Minsk

  8. Apparently players from Cape Verde had problems with their beds in Sweden. The beds collapsed under their weight. "We transferred them immediately, but the bad aftertaste remained," said Nilton Delgado, who is helping newcomers from Cape Verde at the World Cup, to Swedish Aftonbladet. As he added, the beds of six handball players collapsed. "It's true that we don't have a big budget and the hotel is among the cheaper ones, but what happened was shameful. I don't know what the hotel staff was thinking, to offer the guests, who are two meters tall and weigh a hundred kilograms, beds intended for older children." But that's not all. Problems with beds occurred in Poland too! "The beds in our hotel are wide, but the problems were caused by mattresses that were too hard. Of course, the hardness of these is a matter of judgment and habit, but most of us asked for particularly soft mattresses," Norwegian player Tobias Groendahl told one of Norway's biggest newspapers, Dagbladet. His compatriot Sander Sagosen also had similar problems in Krakow, where the first part of the WC was played: "The mattresses were too hard and we can only hope that the mattresses in the new hotel in Katowice will be more comfortable and that we will be able to sleep well."

  9. As promised I will update about my mother’s native country Syria in this thread. But before looking forward to Paris 2024 I will tell you about little of Syria’s Olympic History. Syria first participated in London 1948 when Zouheir Shourbagi was their sole competitor in the whole games. He get a 10th place in diving. Syria has 4 Olympic medals in the history. 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. The Historical Gold is one of my favorite moments ever from the Olympic Games. Ghada Shouaa won the gold medal in Heptathlon at the Summer Olympics Games in Atlanta 1996. My mom was proud, I was proud. Syria‘s three other medalists are: Joseph Atiyeh, silver in wrestling at Los Angeles 1984. Nasser Al Shami, bronze in boxing heavyweight -91 in Athens 2004 Man Asaad, bronze in weightlifting +109 in Tokyo 2020(2021) A woman won the only gold and that feels so good. The last medal came in the last Olympics in Tokyo. Can Syria win any medal in Paris? Let’s see and hope. More updates soon.

  10. Wierer winning the first race in Antholz, there was no better way for the crowd to start the week Chloé Chevalier on the podium, finally!! I'm so happy for her, she did such an amazing relay last week and to see her be on the first podium of her career right after was really satisfying! The French girls this season are doing what the guys did last seasons, looks like they switched roles this year

  17. the only chance is to wait for the races to be uploaded in the sport section and watch them from there (like it was explained when the biathlon season opener happened). there's no way to watch anything live on NRK (except for those things they allow people to watch)

  19. Can not believe there someone in this world who did not hear about her this week Yep, we already discussed a lot about her in the WU18 worlds thread. She is considered as one of the biggest talent of this sport in history. Last year when she was 13. The coaches tried her in our seniors Women Extraliga in 6 matches. She scored there 25 goals and added 15 assists. In 6 adult league matches This year she is part of the Boys U16 league, she played for different reason only 10 matches so far there but is till the score leader of the championship with 15 goals and 16 Assists in 10 matches of a 2 years older Boys league She is now 14 years old and was called last week for the first time to the Women´s Under 18 World champs She ended being the MVP of the tournament scoring 9 goals and adding 3 Assists against Almost 4 years older opponents. First female at IIHF level to score a so-called "Lacrosse" Michigan goal ever, became the second most searched name in the Ice Hockey world web last week. And if it was not enough, basically every her goal at the U18 worlds was a jewel. Enjoy, it started with some goals but the last 3 were all some reel-highlights many men could not do in their entire careers. Yes she is 14 years old

  20. For Ettifaq vs Al-Fateh of course, obviously PS: Those top two on the left, is that their trademark 'goal celebration' that their PR agency came up with like with all those 'stars' nowadays? Nowadays you always know a goal is not very important when the player does their PR-thingy afterwards, whereas the actually important goals are celebrated with real emotion and cheering and running and jumping

  22. MS 2nd Round Alex Molčan - Felix Auger-Aliassime 6:3, 6:3, 3:6, 2:6, 2:6 WS 2nd Round Anna Karolína Schmiedlová - Camila Giorgi 3:6, 4:6 (No super-"besties" match between Belinda and AKS in GS 3rd Round , that would be super awesome, both were so excited in our medias and were so much hoping to play each-other there, nowadays basically the only chance to have a "Slovak" derby in a GS, is that our girls face Bencic ... but, oh well.... congrats Giorgi. and now I assume, Go Belinda win this all now ) and see you in Rolland Garros

  29. what the Biathlon officials and coaches did to Sanfilippo in these years is just a shame, pure shame. they always found the way to protect people whose value never got even close to Federica's. if they think we can win any relay medal with girls like Carrara or Comola (or, for now, Passler and Auchentaller and all the others normally starting in the IBU Cup)...well, good luck! maybe in 3 years things will be different, but in the last 4/5 seasons we threw away more than a medal because of very biased (weird, if not shameful) choices. p.s. now I'm really curious to see what Wierer is going to do in the next 3 years...my 2 cents are on her to retire at the end of this, max next season.

  30. Federica Sanfilippo wasn't picked up for Anterselva round and has decided to retire from biathlon. Apparently she will continue in cross country and might even show up in Livigno World Cup next weekend.
