South Korea's Moon Dae-Sung, who beat Nikolaidis in the final at the 2004 Olympics, traveled to Thessaloniki, Greece to visit Nikolaidis' grave. He told reporters that he had a very strong relationship with Nikolaidis, and that he was sorry that it took him so long to visit his grave. I think this is a really beautiful story and it shows the Olympic spirit. rafalgorka and 2 others reacted to vinipereira for a topic
The year in sports brought us a lot of joy, tears and excitement, not only for the athletes competing, but for Totallympics members around the world. As we say goodbye to the returning edition of our annual awards, here's hope that 2023 can also be a memorable year for all sports fans. For now, we'll remember the moments that united us in 2022, presenting the theme song for this edition: TISC winner "Superheroes", by Irish band The Script. Thank you all! Have a great year and until the next Totallympics Awards!3 points -

no, it won't happen. the Braves don't want him to play the WBC because of last season's injury, they think he should focus on recovering, working with their physios rather than playing an official tournament missing some training sessions.1 point

Winter World University Games 2023
Olympian1010 reacted to De_Boni.BR for a topic
There is a FISU classification system related to the participation of countries in the team sports of the World University Games in which there is relegation and the permanence of the participating teams and it applies to both the Winter Games and the Summer Games. It is based on the performances of the previous edition, which in this case the winter one was in Krasnoyarsk, Russia in 2019. Thus, the last two placed in each of the team sports events would be relegated and their places would be filled by the next ones on the waiting list. These criteria will not be applied this time, due to the suspension of Russia and Belarus in the world sports system. In the men's Ice Hockey tournament in 2019 Japan and Sweden would be relegated, which were in 11th and 12th position respectively. As Russia is banned and Switzerland withdrew, Sweden and Japan who were 11th and 12th remained and open spots went to Ukraine and South Korea. As this happened on Woman's Tournament as the same rules are are being applied and China and Switzerland that participated in the tournament in 2019 were relegated, the next countries that were on the list were the United Kingdom and Slovakia and the point that was from Russia was left and went to the Czech Republic. This also happened on curling tournament. For men, the two last placed countries on last edition were relegated. They were China and Russia (this not changed) were relegated in 2019 and in their places Brazil and Japan entered,as they are next two countries on the FISU waiting list.In the women's tournament, the Czech Republic and Italy would be relegated in 2019. But with the non-participation of Russia, only Italy was relegated and the remaining places went to Australia and Spain.1 point -

Thank you @vinipereira for all the hard work here! The video is amazing. I'd share it widely but fear the IOC etc would take it down!!# The awards are an interesting reminder of how wrong many of you about sport too* *just kidding1 point -
Alison and Guto no longer play together. Alison now plays with Alvaro Filho and Guto plays with Leo. And these two pairs, as well as Evandro/Vinicius, are very recent to participate in this tournament.1 point

Let's hope it doesn't rain too much in summer of 2028 or else this will be an all-time joke. SoFi Stadium build for 4 billion dollars requires a mop because the wind blew the rain inside the domed stadium during the college football final tonight0 points -
