Amazing story for Marie Horáčková. Her mom Barbora represented Czech at the Beijing Olympics but passed away 3 years ago. Her daughter follows her footsteps and I am pretty sure it's gonna be her to be names for the Olympic squad!!

So incredible for Evangelia Psarra to make it once again! She is going to her sixth Olympics! Only two other Greeks have also gone to six Olympics (one in sailing and one in shooting). In a sport where Greece is basically nonexistent, she has been flying our flag for two decades. Really proud of her. I didn't expect her to make it this time but so happy she did. She is 47 years old and made her Olympic debut in Sydney when she was 26 and never missed the Olympics since. I think she said that if she makes it to Tokyo this will be the last time for her. What a nice story.

A lot of sports have bad qualification process but I think Weightlifting is among the worst. Only 4 per gender per NOC, complicated process, additional restrictions due to doping, very lengthy qualification timeline not giving much chance for youngsters and/or athletes with injury. I am sure other users would be able to list other problems as well. But, on the plus side, this time around atleast we didn't have athletes lifting less than their bodyweight qualifying for Olympics.

Tak to vypadá, že bychom v atletice mohli vyslat na OH 2 štafety, což by byla pecka!! Samostatná Česká republika nikdy neměla na OH více než 1 štafetu a pokaždé to byla ženská štafeta 4x400m. Věřím, že nakonec pojede mužská 4x400 i mix. Ženské to v Kluži uniklo cca o sekundu, což je škoda, protože další příležitost asi už nebude. A mužská 4x100 je také velmi blízko, potřebovali by stáhnout cca 2 desetiny z českého rekordu. 2x se jim to již téměř povedlo. Obávám se, že už ale další příležitost štafet nebude .... Ale počkejma na víkend a uvidíme ....

Equestrian : very challenging one we have a very good team and individuals in Showjumping but not with the quality of winning medals, it's always a dream for me that Egypt could someday win an Olympic medal in this sport 2. MP : this sport always makes me sad in Olympics so a sweet revenge would be real fun, in the last 3 Olympics we have some very good pentathletes but they always choked in this fucking lucky equestrian again we go to the Olympics with really high hopes of winning a medal if we don't win this time then I would really stop following this sport for real ? 3. Judo : the 2nd most annoying sport for me after Modern Pentathlon, Very high hopes in London and Rio but came up with nothing now we are actually nothing so can we have a sweet revenge with a very wide outsider chance let's see 4. Shooting : one of the sports that I always wanted for a medal at, it really upseted me in Rio when we had 2 5 place finishers and even Amy was doing great in men's skeet but a very awful 4th series with 22 destroyed his chances it would be real fun if he can win a medal after all his historic achievements last 7 years he really deserve to shine also a medal in men's or mixed trap would be real real fun 5. Here's something interesting: Hungarians have qualified in 25 disciplines which is actually a new record for us (the previous was 24 in Barcelona and Atlanta). We qualified in 20 disciplines in Rio. We dropped one discipline (Diving) and added six (Handball, Cycling Road, RG, Taekwondo, Canoe Slalom, Karate).
