The story is very bizarre.... Be prepared... The reason Deni was so adamant to bring his family because he claimed that only his wife know what kind food he need daily. The food from his wife is deemed too much by the nutritionist and it caused an issue. After a negotiation, he finally rented an apartment for his family and follow the nutrition program like other athletes... but now he doesn't want to stay in the national training center Also the federation found out that he also worked part time as a personal trainer, thus making him often not giving 100% during training. He said that he did that because he was having a financial difficulties, which was very likely true because he is the only guy in the national center who doesn't get monthly allowance from the government civil servant program. Why? Despite he won gold in 2017 SEA Games, he is not admitted as a civil servant because his ex-wife appeared in national TV and said that he is having an affair with a woman who is now his current wife!

It will be Triyatno in 67, Deni is removed from the Olympic preparation team because he refused to follow the rules of the national team (apparently he wanted to bring his family to live in the national training center )

I think no one has mentioned it yet but this race within the race could prove to be very important to the Olympic race in itself ... As we speak is 32nd in the rankings and therefore will not earn any spot thanks to it, whatever Tom Pidcock does in NMNM. So Pidcock, a man we can consider as a top notch outsider for the medals, even the title, is currently out of the Games. But, if Dascalu should repeat this top 20 and overtake Slovakia in the process, then Romania would be qualified via the rankings, thus releasing its U23 2019 WC quota (earned by Dascalu), which would transfer to the next athlete in this race from a non already qualified country ... I'm familiar with sports in Italy, I mean not as much as you guys obviously but still ... he is obviously not famous in Tehran but people in wrestling community know him very well. and he probably received thousands of comments from the Iranians because of what he did in the European Championship bronze medal match he didn't try to score on Zhamalov in last 30 seconds when the Russian was visibly injured and in pain. even somehow didn't use one of his hands (not sure if that was intentional) but at least some media here published that as a symbol of fairplay !

Additional spots open up due to 1) Japan not needing host quota and 2) athletes qualifying in multiple events. For example, British pair of Ellis/Smith are qualifying in XD. But both Ellis and Smith are also qualifying in MD and WD. Hence, one additional spot is available in both MS and WS.

We still don't know who produced the positive test, but the scandal is getting bigger: Péter Sidi has been suspended by the Hungarian Shooting Federation because without permission he entered István Péni's room during the Delhi World Cup and stayed there for 45 minutes. Péni wasn't in the room at that time, but there's undisputable evidence from the security footage. The federation will now conduct a disciplinary procedure against Sidi. I think there's a chance that Sidi's quota will be rejected and then reallocated.

I think this is becoming more and more unlikely. all of their 3 weightlifters received the original suspension but it seems Colombia WL federation is making the process longer intentionally by bringing it to CAS. it's a lengthy process, even Vietnam and Romania are not banned yet. (despite having 3 official suspensions) Colombia is hoping to receive that 1 year ban after Tokyo.

has entries in MK1 200/1000, WK1/WC2 500 and MK2 1000. Winner of MK2 1000 gets the boat quota, as do the top two in WK1/WC2 500 and MK1 200/1000. However, nations in top two of both MK1 events only get 1000 quota; 200 quota passes on to highest-placed nation not qualified in the 1000. (Same goes for WK1 200/500.)

Not sure what we can expect here, Our biggest hoepe Ivana Kmeťová is pregnant and will skip this season, thus we lost chance for a female representative in this sport, the other girls are still too young and inexperienced. but I am interested in one name Lisa Maria Gamsjäger and how she will do in her debut at international senior level, this girl has a really interesting CV worth a Hollywood script. She was born in Austria to Austrian father and Slovak mother, her father left them after her birth, she moved to Slovakia (Komárno) with her mother when she was 2 years old, at 9 she watched Canoeing Slalom at the Olympics and decided to become a future star of this sport, but in Komárno they have only canoeing Sprint club and venue, so she accepted and started this sport, but seeing there more chances and financial funds of this sport in Hungary she moved to Gyor at 14 and started attending Hungarian school, at 15 received Hungarian citizenship and started competing for Hungary, won various medals at Juniors ad U23 Eurpean competitions in K2 & K4. In 2019 after graduation she decided to end her career. the sport did no more entertaining her. she looked for a job and found one quickly, worked as a flight attendant in a large flying company. But in 2020 the coronavirus came and she lost her job... Our M K4 head coach contacted her in summer and invited her to try to return to canoeing in our country again, so she agreed, restarted her career, trainings etc... and now ? well, last month she won the Slovak internal qualification for K1-200m women. and will try the Olympic qualifiers this week. Obviously there no big chane of success, she does not have the speed and strength against other trained and established athletes, but why not in Paris 2024 ? All in all, a quota from Szeged may be a bit hard to obtain, if you ask me to bet, I would say Matej Rusnák in M-C1 should be our biggest chance here though Live stream

Netherlands will miss their star player Estavana Polman. She had just returned from a knee injury that lasted months, in one of her first matches for her team Esbjerg tragedy struck again (yesterday). She will not compete at the Games. Sorry for her, but also a big problem for the Dutch team. They are nowhere without her. It's not without reason I have her in my profile picture: she is such an amazing player!
