M K1 is basically the more easiest to qualify of all events, Everyone apart Poland is already qualified, Polaczyk or any other POL athlete is sure the main fav for the quota, Only competition may be , naturalized Slovak Marcel Potočný, another naturalized Slovak Samuel Stanovský (not sure if he is eligible for Olympics though), Mathieu Doby, Ren Korpes, Igor Tsviet or someone from1 point

@MHSN just watched and they have fixed the mistake in women's +61... Now Gong Li is 3rd and in green, as it should be... so, as of today, we have Zaretska, Abbasali, Li and Hocaoglu qualified, with Quirici who could overtake Li if she wins the European Gold (if I'm not wrong)... unfortunately, by missin the Lisbon event, Semeraro can't be better than 7th, even if she wins the Gold Medal in Porec (and most likely, she's going to end up 8th in any case), so it's going to be almost impossible to earn the European repechage spot (we would need Gong Li to qualify via ranking, so to make Alipour get her repechage place and leave one more spot open at +68 -and of course Plank should lose a few positions by not having a good tournament in Porec)... by the way, I still hope that this happens, so take a lot of pressure off Semeraro before the final OQT in Paris... why is this qualification system such a mess?1 point

Olympics Heads to Heads? Who will get more gold medals in Tokyo? POLL No. 2
rafalgorka reacted to Cobi for a topic
I am not expecting more than 5 golds for Spain. We have a lot of decent chances to win medals (we will probably tie or even beat our record of 22 in Barcelona 92), but gold medals are very difficult for us. The biggest chance is probably Sandra Sánchez in karate, but being the Japanese her biggest rival I am not so sure if it's going to be gold or silver. We also have good chances in badminton (Carolina Marín), tennis (Nadal or the doubles), shooting (both traps and the mixed team with Fátima Gálvez and Alberto Fernández), judo (Niko Sherazadishvili), sailing (470W should be our best shot, but some gold chances also in 470M, 49er and 49er FX), canoeing (in Rio we had the surprise in slalom of Maialen beating Fox, so it might happen again with David Llorente or Nuria Villarubla. In sprint we will have some chances in men kayak in K4-500, but I think that Germany will take it), golf (Jon Rahm), taekwondo (same problem, our 3 men and Adriana Cerezo, if she qualifies this week, should get a medal, but none of them is the best of their category) and team sports (men handball, even though Denmark is the biggest favorite, and maybe men waterpolo, where we have improved a lot this cycle and we have already beaten Serbia and Croatia). In summary, I think that we will get more medals than Poland, but in golds Poland is the favorite unless we have a very good performance at the Olympics (or Poland underperforms). In the othe polls I am going with Iran and Sweden.1 point -
I voted for Qatar (although I think both countries will win one gold medal each and I would prefer Israel ahead in the medal table), Ireland (they will have at least two gold medals in rowing, while Portugal have a few chances, but all of them have strong rivals) and Ukraine (no doubt here).1 point

I think a reasonable rule of thumb is that where a country qualifies a synchronised team one of the pair is also likely to be competing in the individual events. GB has secured the maximum number of quotas available and although they brought 15 divers to this event to cover the 16 places I expect that they will likely select a team of 12/13 divers with some competing in both the individual and synchronised events.1 point

I think it will be Orozco and Sanchez for individuals, if the later is in form.1 point

And one brit diver just withdraw Mexicans looking Okay, Gabriela Agundez 4th round dive scoring 79 and sitting third entering the final round, the quota is almost a lock The other girl is clearly right now our third ranked diver or even 4th nationally when you put in the mix Alejandra Orozco and the promising teenager Maria Jose Sanchez1 point

Your own Summer Olympic Games Programme
thiago_simoes reacted to George_D for a topic
there can be various proposals ofcourse on olympic program but what i cant understand for one specific sport (Modern Pentathlon) is why IOC hasnt added at least 2 events more (team or relay) since we talk about a sport that demands too many facilities (at least 3) in contrast with the number of set of medals it offers (2) and the duration it lasts (2 days) ..And it isnt also a sport of big importance regarding its attendance, no matter how impressive are the pentathletes. I could say metaphorically that its a sport with the least "VFM"1 point -

Now here is an adventure unique to equestrian. Martha Del Valle travelled to Germany a year ago to prepare for the Olympics. But then the Olympics got postponed, and since shipping a horse overseas back and forth is so incredibly inconvenient, she was basically forced to stay in Europe for a whole year and find a job. Anyways, now she is officially selected to be the Mexican representative in dressage. @mrv86 https://www.eurodressage.com/2021/05/03/mexican-martha-fernanda-del-valle-quirarte-en-route-tokyo-stop-portugal1 point
