  2. I am just glad that people won't be able to blame him for everything anymore, I got really tired of it after a while. It must be a sad day for the American news media, Biden is pretty much the most boring president ever, their ratings will plummet.

  5. They had some good results in Junior/Youth events recently. Porto is a good team in EHF Champions League I think it was about time for Portugal to join the "elite" level team. and while Norway can celebrate beating Portugal by just 1 goal. but still Portugal has a good chance to beat France and qualify with France. in fact Norway's fate is not in its hands anymore. France only had one great match against Norway, they struggled against Switzerland and Algeria. beating them is not mission impossible for Portugal. (Portugal eliminated France from Euro 2020)

  10. for synchronized swimming, greece and france are neck and neck to win the last quota! I hope it will be France ^^^, in basketball the only country that is dangerous in your group is Canada

  11. Sorry but this is not true. Greece didn't select the flag bearer yet, though Anna is one of the top prospects for that position along with Stefanidi and Petrounias. There are also some rumors about Tsitsipas and Antetokounmpo but I don't think they deserve it since they never played at the Olympics before and the others already won gold medals.

  12. Really unfair that South Africa automatically gets in. I also think it's unfair for China and Australia too, even though they are at least decent teams. Canada are somewhat decent as well, but I disagree with this whole qualification process Greece and the Netherlands both missed out in 2012 and 2016. The Dutch hosted in 2016 but still couldn't make it. I really hope Greece can make it this year but I know it will be tough. I must say that if anyone is trying to decide who to support here, I believe us Greeks really deserve some support. 2009-2012 we had an incredible cycle. 4th at 2009 World Championships, silver at 2010 European Championships, gold at 2011 World Championships, and silver at 2012 European Championships. Also won World League bronze in 2010 and 2012. Sadly, the World Championships did not offer Olympic quota places back then, and our entire qualification was decided on one match against Spain. We lost, and Spain went on to win silver in London. Really unlucky for us. 2013-16 we did okay. Didn't win any medals but finished 5th or 6th at every World/Euro Champs during that cycle. Once again, our Olympic hopes were decided on one match. This time against Russia, and we led 9-7 in the fourth period and then 10-9 but conceded with four seconds left and then lost on penalties. Russia went on to win bronze at the Rio Olympics. 2017-20...well we had some good results (second in 2018 European Championships and won the 2018 Europa Cup), but 2019 and 2020 were not so good for us, 8th at 2019 World Championships and 6th at 2020 European Championships. After those disappointing results, we got a new coach and our best player Alexandra Asimaki (former FINA World player of the year) announced her return to the national team. Sadly, coronavirus changed some plans and she decided to finish her career. We also lost another great player in Alkisti Avramidou, who never made it to the Olympics in her incredible career. Other great players we had who never made it to the Olympics include Eleni Kouvdou and Triantafyllia Manolioudaki, they both stopped after 2016. People who follow water polo know these names very well. I do hope that with this new coach we can surprise people here and manage to qualify for Tokyo. I know it will be really tough but a lot of our girls have experience playing for Olympiakos (one of the best clubs in Europe) despite our average age being just 22 and we only have one player over 26. These young girls have achieved a lot and won the European U19 and U17 championships and medals at the World U20 and U18 championships. If they don't make it to Tokyo, I hope they can keep improving and make it to Paris 2024. Also doesn't help that our best young player Stefania Charalampidi decided to play for USA (she moved there when she was 17) even though she was born and raised in Greece... Anyways I just wanted to let people know more about our team. I don't want to make it seem like I am complaining but I think it would be a really nice story if our girls can finally get back to the Olympics for the first time since 2008. This team has been through a lot. I'm confident our men's team will qualify again, but our women need this. An elite team should not be excluded from the Olympics three times in a row.

  13. TISC Annual 2021 - Bidding For Hosting Rights Now Open The hosting rights for the upcoming TISC Annual 2021 have become available after the top 3 finishers after the previous edition declined the invitation to host. This means that the bidding process is now open to all TISC participants to put forward their bid to host the contest. See the below details for the bid process and how the hosting rights will be allocated: SECTION 9 - FUTURE HOSTING RIGHTS: 9. (a) Upon completion of the relevant song contest, the winning nation will automatically be awarded the rights to host the subsequent Totallympics International Song Contest 1 year later. The winners of TISC Annual 2020 Canada declined hosting duties meaning we move on to Rule 9(b).... 9. (b) If the winning nation wishes to decline the hosting duties, the runner-up of that edition will then be awarded the opportunity to accept or decline the hosting rights. If the runner-up also declines the hosting duties, the 3rd placed nation of that edition will have the opportunity to accept or decline the hosting rights. The runner-up of TISC Annual 2020 China and the 3rd-placed finisher France declined hosting duties meaning we move on to Rule 9(c).... 9. (c) In the event that the hosting rights are declined by the top 3 ranked nations at the previous edition of the relevant TISC, an open bid process will be conducted in order to award the hosting rights. This process will be open to all candidates, first-time hosts as well as previous hosts. A random draw will take place with each candidate being awarded a number of tickets in the draw. The more tickets a candidate has entered, the better their chance of being selected as host. Here is the process for how the tickets will be distributed: Each candidate automatically awarded 1 ticket each in the draw. However, additional tickets awarded as follows - did not host in the previous 5 editions (+1 additional ticket) - did not host in the previous 10 editions (+1 additional ticket) - did not host previously (+2 additional tickets) - took part in the previous bidding process (+1 additional ticket). For first-time hosts, they will add an additional ticket for each edition they are unsuccessful for in bidding, thus increasing their chance slightly with each unsuccessful bid. This increase will only be available for first-time hosts. Additionally, if a first-time host missed 2 consecutive bidding campaigns, then their tickets no longer carry forward and they lose those additional tickets. List of bids / candidates to host TISC Annual 2021: United States @Olympian1010 Poland @Vojthas @rybak Israel @Dnl I will tag all users who participated in the most recent TISC: @konig @titicow @stefanbg @dcro @Hipooo @Agger @Wumo @thepharoah @catgamer @Dragon @Janakis @Vektor @Fly_like_a_don @Griff88 @Dnl @Gianlu33 @Henry_Leon @Pablita @SteveParker @Ruslan @Werloc @Glen @mrv86 @Ionoutz24 @heywoodu @Wanderer @rybak @Vojthas @kungshamra71 @IoNuTzZ @NikolaB @hckosice @justony @Cobi @amen09 @tuniscof @dezbee2008 The deadline to receive bids is Friday, 29th January (GMT 23:00) and the draw (if needed) will take place the next day on Saturday, 30th January at a time yet to be specified. Thank you to @Olympian1010 for showing interest in hosting once again and thanks in advance to anyone else who declares interest.

  26. Russian dressage team long-list... Aframeeva Marina Volonchunas Ekaterina Davidova Eugenia Zakhrabekova Irina Ivanova Olga Isachkina Regina Klementieva Maria Kosterina Tatyana Maksakova Alexandra Merkulova Inessa Merkulova is the frontrunner (good on both her and Mister X for bouncing back from near career ending fall / injury). Kosterina had a freak debut season in 2017 (17th at the European Championships), but has struggled to recapture similar form recently. Aframeeva despreately wants another Olympics. Klementieva and Maksakova have been shooting stars as of late, Isachkina has a nice horse, while Zakhrabekova stands a chance of getting selected as well. No chance - Volonchunas, Davidova, Ivanova.

  28. We should just not look at the goal differences whatsoever. On paper, Hungary's margin over Kazakhstan should be a good sign for them ahead of Greece, but yeah, some teams are just so uncompetitive that even their losing margins don't count for anything.

  33. Hmm, most of them are here to fill the blanks I fear. Our best young athletes and prospects will not race : Quentin Fercoq (99), Diané Sellier (01), Gabriel Volet (03). Dmitry Migunov neither but I don't know if he's still in the team. Tawan Thomas seems to have progressed considering the few races in December but still far from the international level, the others seem to be even further. Not much to expect from these championships I fear apart from Tifany Huot-Marchand (she can grab a medal I reckon), maybe Sébastien Lepape. I have hopes for Aurélie Monvoisin in the future but she's been injured recently and I'm quite surprised by her presence.

  37. Hi! I am making a minimalistic video about the Olympic Games and would like to know your opinion on this. If you are an athlete or a fan, I will be glad to hear your opinion. Please answer a few questions What colors do you associate with Games? What do you like about the Olympic Games, why are you ready to come/watch? The motion video timing will be 15-25 seconds. So far, the idea is this: to use associations, objects of the main sports, medals, the Olympic architecture of the host country, its nature, covid19 suffered (maybe canceled Tokyo 2020). What do you think? Very grateful for the feedback and sorry for my English

  39. I agree. I am really hoping to see our women make it but we need a lot of luck. I think I would be less angry if we made it in 2012, that was when we were really robbed. We are not as good as we were back then and we only have two of the same players. My only hope is that our new coach somehow transforms this team. There should be 12 teams instead of 10. I thought expanding it from 8 to 10 would increase our chances, but instead they just went to Canada and South Africa I am confident the men will make it but not sure about basketball, we always have great players in NBA and Euroleague but choke in Olympic qualifying and always have a lot of injuries during Olympic years. I think our women's artistic swimming team has a good chance to make it but they won't win a medal. Sorry for making it off topic.

  42. Today marks the halfway mark of the season and I thought it would be interesting to look at athletes that have managed to get themselves into points in every single race of the season. Also, I'll be adding honourable mentions to athletes that scored, but didn't get into mass starts if there are any, so let's go. Men's list: Johannes Thingnes Boe Sturla Holm Laegreid Tarjei Boe Johannes Dale Sebastian Samuelsson Emilien Jacquelin Jakov Fak Benedikt Doll Benjamin Weger Matvey Eliseev Alexander Loginov (missed 1 mass start) Women's list: Marte Olsbu Roeiseland Hanna Oeberg Dorothea Wierer Franziska Preuss Elvira Oeberg Dzinara Alimbekava Marketa Davidova Anais Chevalier-Bouchet Denise Herrmann Linn Persson Karoline Offigstad Knotten Dunja Zdouc
