Day #16...this is "The End" (cit.) sadness and depression at their climax...to me, this is absolutely the worst moment of my "normal" life (except for the serious troubles, of course...we're still talking of sport, of course)... by the way, my "event(s) of the day" would strongly depend on the Italian interest (= presence in some medal matches)... but...if there were no Italy at all (or if Italy were present in each and every team sport final), Athletics (men's Marathon), Track Cycling (men's Keirin and women's Omnium more than anything), women's Handball Gold Medal match and men's Waterpolo Gold Medal match would surely my "not to be missed" events of the day... women's Volley and Basketball would go in the second row... and I promised myself not to watch a single second of the Boxing tournament, but I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna keep this promise...I like the sport too much to resist temptation... in any case, it's sure that I'm not going to watch a single second of Rhythmic Gymnastics (that's too much for me) and the Closing Ceremony (that's too painful...I'm not so masochist)... bye guys...it's been a lot of fun to live this "Neverland Olympics"... but now I do really hope to live a true, genuine Olympic experience in 12 months time...4 points

Last day. Maybe a medal in women's omnium or men's keirin will help! My bed is calling, I really need some sleep after two magnificent weeks. ... So, the dream ends here. Hopefully we can really experience the Games next year!2 points

Well, if the Ain is a prediction for the TdF, it’s going to be a dull race. Ineos go the the front, drive up the climb. Jumbo-Visma go to the front, drive up the climb. 500m from the top, Ineos & J-V fight it out for the win & bonus secs. Anyway, today Roglić - no hang on, that’s not right - Roglič takes the stage & the Tour.1 point -

First for South Africa, Kork Ballington and Jon Ekerold won races in 250cc and 350cc only and Paddy Driver's best 500cc finish was 2nd. However it's not a first win for an African rider as Gary Hocking was a 500cc World Champion (for Rhodesia).1 point -

And I have updates from one of the most successful Lithuanian Athletics Championships. On the very first day, there was some history made in the 100m race. Gediminas Truskauskas became the 5th fastest Lithuanian with a time of 10.37, while on the women's side, Andrė Ožechauskaitė ran a 11.71 and smashed all of the youth sprint records. (The winning time was from Deliautaitė with 11.68) A pretty respectable showing from Agnė Šerkšnienė in 400m (recovering after an injury season), she posted a 52.29 time Simas Bertašius ran 1500m very close to the Lithuanian record time and finished in 3:40.34 In the 10000m, Brasevičius was the first man in the last 17 years to run under 30 minutes, so our distance running is rising from the grave slowly Andrius Gudžius won the discus throw with a 68.16 On the second day there were some good results too Gediminas Truskauskas ran the 200m in 20.83 and broke the Lithuanian U23 record and it was only 0.09s worse than the Lithuanian record held by fastest Lithuanian in both 100m and 200m - Rytis Sakalauskas. Modesta Justė Morauskaitė ran 400m. Hurdles with a PB of 57.67, 7th fastest Lithuanian time in that distance. Dovilė Kilty defeated the Lithuanian record holder Diana Zagainova in the triple jump and posted a mark of 14.18, which broke the Lithuanian Championship record. Another fun thing is that Vaida Padimanskaitė is getting a PB after PB in the triple jump and if ECH U23 is going to be hosted next year, she might become the third Lithuanian after Kilty and Zagainova to win the gold in these championships. She's already jumping 13.58 and with the way she is progressing it's not unlikely to see her jumping 14 next season. Lastly, both Lithuanian record holders in the javelin throw threw a season best result of 81.38 for Matusevičius and 60.27 for Jasiūnaitė. There were only four disciplines that did not post a season best result and those were: Women's High Jump (Palšytė skipped the event), Men's Discus Throw, since Gudžius has a better result from other competitions this year, women's 1500m and lastly women's discus throw as well with it being the only competition this year for Zarankaitė that she didn't throw a personal best result. With the championships coming to a close, there is one final stop where all of the best athletes will gather and it is the Baltic Championships in Latvia next weekend. Just like with the other category championships, all three countries send 2 individuals to start in every single discipline and points are combined at the end.1 point

DJ on top of the ranking after the "moving day"... but there are a lot of players still within reach (17 in a 4-stroke range, 29 within 6 strokes from the leader)... very curious to see how some new faces among the rising stars of the PGA Tour are going to manage the pressure of the last day of a Major Tournament while fighting for the win... p.s. my 2 cents are on Koepka doin' it again... p.p.s. live leaderboard, here: https://www.pgatour.com/competition/2020/pga-championship/leaderboard.html1 point

Which Sports Events are you Currently Watching?

I’m slowly making my way through the 2015 African Games. I’m up to Day 11 (of 16) right now. So far I’ve watched all of Karate and Swimming, and made through a couple of sessions of Athletics, Basketball, Football, and Handball.1 point -
Odd situation just occurred at the 13th hole for Haotong Li. His tee shot apparently hit a tree & nobody could find his ball. The ball could have landed in the tree. As a result, Li had to take a 2 stroke penalty which resulted in a double bogey. Li is now down 2 strokes from the leader. Terribly unlucky1 point

So if any of you are interested in statistics, the mathematical discipline, here is a very interesting analysis of the Women's Pursuit Competitions from last season. I will be honest, but Math was never my strong point, but this is a pretty interesting read.1 point
