  1. Well, that was 9/10 race. All the attrition made it feel like 1994 again. F1 needs some of these races for sure.

  2. The "new in" is having more women competing. To the IOC gender equality only matters if its for women.

  5. No word on Artistic Swimming when it's their biggest problem when we talk about equality in the games. If they boot the sport they would have room and quotas for everything else they are asking.....

  6. agree , i'm one of those who lost some interest in F1 cuz of these very expected races where u always see same names on podiums and no big changes during race

  16. That is correct, yes. Although he should have had it last year until Hamilton fucked him up for nothing in the last lap or so.

  19. Schumacher is infinitely more likeable and charismatic. He had a string of memorable rivalries for many years with just as exceptional and interesting drivers, which has been lacking in F1 in the last 7-8 years. He had the aura that made you believe he was the best. No one was talking about the car 15-20 years ago, like they do now. Everything about Hamilton's persona on and off the circuits is off-putting and the whole world, bar an island, is dreading the time when history will be disgraced..

  22. What is the point of kneeling during the Austrian anthem? I mean, I would understand it about 80 years ago, but now? Charles says the way of common sense. Like heywoodu is against Hamilton for some time and this all just increases it, that's exactly why I'm supporting Charles, even if he's driving for that whores... I mean, horse.

  27. I hate Hamilton basically forcing everyone to do what he wants them to do. It is perfectly fine for drivers to say "I am 100% against racism, but in a race weekend I am going to focus on my race and I won't be taking a knee." This does not make them complicit in anything, this makes them people who say they are against racism (which is a good thing, I'm sure we all agree). The whole thing is that one should have the freedom to choose those things, just like Hamilton should absolutely be free to show a protest or support or whatnot. It's not freedom (and also not a genuine show of support) if people are only doing it because Hamilton yells in their ears that they have to do it 'or else'.

  33. I'm not totally against it, but maybe it would be a bit harsh to try to find out the worst of the worst (which is what we will do when trying to find the best of the worst) . I have considered it though so I'll wait to see if anyone has strong opinions either way on the matter. Edit: actually on further reflection, yeah it sounds like a good idea. If it's 24 nations, the 8 who are eliminated could enter a consolation bracket to find the winner via knock-out. No need to find the worst that way About your second thought, well I already brought up that issue earlier on this thread as that issue occured to me. The only fair way to prevent it would be to have everyone vote in advance of the contest but that was ruled out. And I am fine with that. I strongly believe that everyone or indeed the vast majority of people will vote for the songs they like the most, regardless of seeding or how it impacts the draw. I'm not sure anyway that there will be seeds after the group stage. It will follow a simple format like Group A winner vs 2nd place in Group B. Or maybe Group A winner vs 3rd place in Group B. It will depend on the format. But it won't be possible to seed them especially if we are using simple format like 3 points for win, 1 point for draw and if each match has different number of judges who completed their votes. I have no idea how the competition will go in honesty, it's very difficult to plan out in advance especially when we have to chase up votes from users as we go. So from an organisation perspective, it's probably going to be far from a neat process. But I'm sure it will be fun nonetheless.

  36. 2 time Olympic champion Lin Dan just announced retirement from national team and giving up trying his 5th Olympics due to age and health issue. Personally, I think Lin Dan is the icon of Chinese badminton and an international legend. Good luck to him. And according to his announcement, he still possibly attend national games representing his provincial team for the very last time.

  39. Things are getting worse and worse here, and we are back to square 1 like February/March with almost 150 deaths per day with more than 2500 infected. and that's just the official number. who knows what's the true number. and exactly like 4 months ago everyday we hear news about famous people getting infected too, celebrities, athletes, politicians. from today wearing mask is mandatory ! (even though I don't know how they are going to "force" people into that) , 7 provinces are in critical situation and 7 more (including where I live and also Tehran where I travel regularly) are almost in critical situation ! and that means half the country, we have 28 provinces. while to be honest I don't care much about the politicians (well except only few of them) I do care a lot about our athletes, Iran football league started something like 10-12 days ago and now half players from those two teams played the first match are tested positive for coronavirus ! it will probably take few more days to hear the same thing about other 14 teams. (I hope I'm wrong though) and last but not the least, one of our current top wrestlers is in critical situation Hossein Nouri, 2017 world bronze medalist and 4 times Asian Champion. I don't know how bad is his situation but moving him to the best hospital in Tehran and to the ICU doesn't sound good.
