  3. So... Went out for what was supposed to be my penultimate distance training pass before the half marathon. The plan was 17-18km with pretty much the setup that I was planning to go with on the 14th (2 bottles of water and 3 isotonic gels) running 2 different loops (1 about 5km and the other 4km). And well... I ended up with this Things really worked out starting at about 2-hour pace and putting on a bit more speed at about 7km and again at 15km (which was when I started considering going the full distance). I did get a bit of problems for the last km or so making me walk the last 400m due to a slightly painful right hamstring. I don't think it's something too bad (it's already better after some good stretches) but didn't want to risk it as I'm still planning to go for it the 14th. Considering that the last 2 days haven't been anything close to the perfect preparation, it may feel even better.

  4. @MHSN According to the latest committee conference resolution, there are total 31 Olympic sports and 9 non-Olympic sports, total events/gold medals around 460-470. 31 Olympics sports - no skateboarding and surfing (including sport climbing, karate and softball/baseball ) 9 non-Olympics sports -Wushu, Sepaktakraw, Kurash, Jujitsu, cricket, Board games, Roller skating, Kabaddi and squash I think sports are basically confirmed but events are not totally confirmed yet. source: https://baijiahao.baidu.com/s?id=1644381703345691384&wfr=spider&for=pc

  8. Damn! There was live archery today! Proper Archery, no gimmicks, no garages, everyone in the same place at the same time. English commentary & everything. Watching it now, seems to be all Turkish archers, but both compound & recurve finals shown. Also weird traditional Turkish archery. These guys aren’t going to be overwhelming many Byzantine cataphracts by the looks of it. Oh dear, not wanting to give anything away, but it’s just as well there were no spectators for the women’s traditional bronze medal match. Never mind face masks, they’d have needed full chainmail.

  11. Jeez, this thread escalated to personal Gestapo-attacks faster than Minneapolis did to riots.

  13. Maybe Trump has foreseen the future

  14. That would probably require striking down or re-writing the Fourth Amendment though. Not gonna happen. We know how US politicians are opposed to changing those 18th century bills of law

  16. Journalists definitely do have the right to record and broadcast what's happening though. Didn't watch the video yet, but from what I'm reading it doesn't seem like they were doing much wrong.

  17. I saw the live video. I don't think the reporter disobeying the police order. He is quite calm and cooperative during the live. Police ask them to move and they are going to and then he got arrested. I would say it's the police overreacted and CNN is not intentionally playing the racial card.

  18. Twitter trolling Trump is pretty fun to watch, one can just imagine the almost literal steam coming out of his ears.

  20. There are probably tens of thousands of policemen in America. If your average policeman really shoots first and asks questions later, then modern day America would have been even more lawless than the Wild West. Like I said, generalizations usually represent the root in such issues. One can argue it's also the liberal gun laws which can awaken the killer instinct in people. Temporary insanity is probably in the cards, legally speking, but I guess these protestors will sooner like to see the policeman crucified rather than the main issue addressed. Esssentially, answering generalization with another generalization against the people you don't like is not an answer...

  21. I've still been watching some Rio 2016 finals on Youtube. They've stopped uploading new ones though, it's mostly older replays now. I've (re)watched: triathlon, marathon, volleyball, beach volleyball, field hockey, handball, water polo and basketball. Running out of sports I enjoy watching by now. Currently the badminton women's double final is on. I don't think I've ever watched a full match of badminton before, but it's surprisingly entertaining. I saw they uploaded cycling's women road race recently, but I just can't bear rewatching that one! Any other recommendations after I finish badminton?

  22. Even some of his own (now former) allies too. Recently the Rio state governor's residence was raided by the police, some believe this is a retaliation from Mr. Bolso. (yeah, I just watched the news on TV lol)

  23. I get that a country like Brazil is hard as shit to defend from a situation like this, I really do. Even so, it's like that braindead idiot is doing absolutely everything he can to make it even worse, unbelievable. By the way, I thought (most of) the state governors were pretty much against him by now? Obviously I don't follow it as much as you, so probably I missed something.
