JoshMartini007 2,130 Posted December 21, 2018 #13 Share Posted December 21, 2018 I don't think South Africa has confirmed the same qualification policy as 2016, but I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it.

Regardless Japan has two quotas. Am I reading it wrong or does the article imply that Ondra can't take part in the Qualification Event in Toulouse? (as if they were going to consider the World Cup ranking as of now instead of waiting for the end of the season, which seems illogical to me) Quote Another big surprise was lead world championAdam Ondra, who made an uncharacteristic error in the lead segment of his combined qualification. The Czech climber reached the 34th hold, but was judged to have stepped and balanced on a bolt into which he was clipped just after the 10th hold. That placed him down in 18th, and as he's not on the World Cup combined rankings, one of the world's best lead and bouldering athletes is left clinging on to a possible qualification through next year's European Championships in Moscow in April. Dunadan 1,103 Posted August 19, 2019 #20 Share Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) Edit: ranking will be taken on 1 November https://ifsc-egw.wavecdn.net/Editors/2019/i19_W2.pdf and Ondra will have a good combined ranking by then if he starts in the Lead+Speed stage in October.
