JoshMartini007 2,130 Posted September 17, 2019 #122 Share Posted September 17, 2019 Japan's selection event will be at the Japanese Championships scheduled in April 2020. Like for 2016 the selection criteria is the same, athletes must achieve the time equal or faster than what was done at the 2019 World Championships, with the exception of the women's 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley where the OQT must be achieved (because the OQT was faster than what was reached at the world champs). By whom? Themselves, the winners, the (semi)finalists? If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! AlFHg 330 Posted October 24, 2019 #125 Share Posted October 24, 2019 I don't know if this was already posted, however the dates of Marathon Swimming Olympic Qualifier will be 30-31 May, in Fukuoka
AlFHg 330 Posted December 5, 2019 #126 Share Posted December 5, 2019 I was wondering: in case Pilato ( ) qualifies to Olympics, can she compete? She will be 16 in January 2021, so I guess not. Do you think I’m wrong?

Ledecky won her first medal when she as 15 I believe. 17 minutes ago, intoronto said: There was a 13 year old swimmer in Rio, so I would imagine yes. Yes, I believe FINA as said that athletes in Aquatics must be 13 years old and older. AlFHg 1 “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Topicmaster1010 2,182 Posted December 19, 2019 #129 Share Posted December 19, 2019 Seeing as no one has done a qualification update here in a while, I thought I might give it a try. Below are the NOC's that have qualified in each event with the athlete that achieved the OQT. If a NOC has more than two athletes that met the NOC, the top two with the fastest times are listed. I'll do the women tomorrow. dodge 680 Posted December 19, 2019 #130 Share Posted December 19, 2019 For Ireland, although 2 athletes have obtained the OQT, neither have been confirmed by Swim Ireland. They have their own qualifying criteria. All athletes must obtain the OQT at our national championships in April. The only exception is if the OQT was previously achieved at the World Championships (as is the case with Daragh Greene), they must achieve a slightly easier mark at the national championships https://www.swimireland.ie/news/2020-olympic-games-nomination-policies-released
