ICF. Completely clueless about their own qualificatoin system. I think it's the same case as of Spain's men kayak at the Worlds.

JoshMartini007 2,210 Posted September 30, 2019 #96 Share Posted September 30, 2019 Nevermind, it looks like Africa was eligible to use the women's K2 500m quota (Asia didn't get it apparently)
dcro 10,179 Posted November 1, 2019 #97 Share Posted November 1, 2019 Apparently Argentina did get their K1 1000 m spot, and somehow Russia got doubled up in K2 1000 m... https://www.canoeicf.com/sites/default/files/canoe_sprint_quota_allocation_-_tokyo_2020_-_media_format.pdf Not really sure how that happened. But potentially Spain's unused K1 200 m quota somehow ended up in Russian K2 boat? And then Argentina got a spare spot from Russia in K1? hckošice 1 #banbestmen

But potentially Spain's unused K1 200 m quota somehow ended up in Russian K2 boat? And then Argentina got a spare spot from Russia in K1? Argentina got its quota from the Czech Republic (Spain declined while France's athlete is already qualified in the K2 1000m). Spain's unused quota really should have gone to Sweden in the K1 200m and if Sweden declined it, it should have gone to Russia in the K1 200m and while that would mean Russia has two kayak men quotas, neither of them competed in the K2 1000m so the whole "athlete qualified in another boat" thing won't count. While it doesn't mean much in terms of number of athletes, it's significant because athletes must compete in the boat their athlete quota was qualified in.
