Agger 1,576 Posted October 1, 2016 #34 Share Posted October 1, 2016 The Ryder Cup is looking like a close race this year. After a terrible start for Europe losing 4-0 in the first foursomes they won 3 out of 4 four-balls. At the moment it's 2 foursomes for each, but match 2 between Snedeker/Koepka vs. Stenson/Fitzpatrick is very close. Later today we will have 4 four-balls before it finishes with 12 singles. Agger 1,576 Posted October 2, 2016 #35 Share Posted October 2, 2016 After an impressive finish by the spanish pair, the foursomes ended up with 2½ for Europe and 1½ for USA. Sadly USA won 3 very close four-balls meaning they are up by 3 going into the finishing singles. This means that USA only needs to win 5 of the 12 singles. Not as big a lead as 2012 when Europe pulled of a huge comeback. The 3 first singles will be very important. McIlroy who has been Europe's best player is up against Reed who has been one of the 2 best US players; Stenson who played brilliant golf in the afternoon fourballs on friday but not as good the rest of the time up against Spieth. They've already been up against eachother 3 times during this Ryder cup with 2 wins for Spieth and one for Stenson. And the 3rd with Pieters who lost the first foursome by a great margin but won the other 3 with McIlroy. He will be up against J.B. Holmes who didn't play the two foursomes. It will be close, but sadly I think the cup will go to USA for the first time since 2008.
