Whatever be the Indian ranking, we are likely to face one of Croatia, Slovakia, England or a few others. It will be evenly balanced. We have a good doubles so that along with Sathiyan even winning 1 of 2 means Sharath or any 1 of the other needs to win 1 match.

On the contrary Women's team finishing 9th is a blessing in disguise. Though the qualifying chances are slim, the worser their ranking (Not 30+),the better part of draw. Currently Korea, Taipei could be in their quarter provided serpentine system is followed.

Table Tennis draws don't follow serpentine system but the best teams can face any of the worst teams "in a range". In the Team qualification, any of the 9th-16th seed seeds can get anyone from 1st-8th seed for the Round of 16 match which will be decider for qualification. So its absolutely vital we get within 8th seed.

Currently 11th rank (effectively 7th and 8th seed as China, Japan and Germany have qualified and assuming Brazil qualifies from Latin America) is shared with India and Croatia and 9-16 seeds are expected to be taken by Portugal (host), Slovenia, Belgium and others and none of them have their third ranked player in top 100. So even if Achanta or Sathiyan lose, we have backup of Soumyajit Ghosh. I don't trust Anthony or Harmeet at all and have never seen them beating a higher ranked player

Women's team qualification I am absolutely pessimistic.

Thanks bro ........document was clear ...... Looks like we can qualify if we can retain the 8th place ( am I to understand Japan qualified as hosts? ) as CHN qualified in the ATTU

Acc to page 4 its serpentine system only. Once seeded all 32 positions are assigned without a draw. Only teams 32-64 are drawn randomly.

World wrestling update

all 4 have reached the round of 16 ..... so good start

Deepak - has a good draw can reach semis and get a quota

Rahul - Has a good draw can reach Semis - we will have to see about a medal

Jitender -  Reasonable draw - his first round was promising . I see him progressing but 50:50

Mausum - Snowballs chance in hell of progressing as he against snyder ( US ) .... but Snyder should reach finals so may  will come into Repechage but I see him losing there too
