was looking at world shooting rankings for 2019 released today .... This will be the end of the year rankings and gives some picture of how are shooters did in 2019 a great year for Indian shooting .......

Three of our shooters finished at world Number 1 .......a fantastic result for us .....

Divyansh - 10M rifle  men

Valarivan - 10M Rifle women

Saurabh - 10M Pistol

I am sure our both rifle and pistol teams also would have finished in the No 1 slot based on overall performances ( though there is no ranking ) ...... So we can say we had 5 of our shooters in world number 1 slot ......China- 2 , US-2

other  shooters in the top 10 would are

Abhishek -10M pistol - 3rd

sanjeev - 50M 3 positions - 9th

Apurivi -10M rifle  - 2nd

Anjum -10Mrifle - 9th

Manu -10M pistol - 3rd

Yeshashwini - 10M pistol - 5th

Rahi - 25M pistol - 6th

and quite surely both 10M mixed second pairs

we can say we had 14 top 10 performers .........

This is the 2019 world ranking..... Do check... Possibly you are looking at the general world ranking..... I am using this as the basis as most of the young indian shooters were shooting in the junior section at the world championships

But then general rankings are more important for NRAI. Elavenil has all but secured herself a quota for 2020 now. I'm still optimistic that Anjum and Apurvi be chosen for mixed events as  qualifications pdf told about double starters having mqs in 10m air rifle, not necessarily participating in 10m air rifle individual event so I prefer Anjum in mixed than Elavenil.

But why not Valarivan in mixed, shooting though mixed(team event) is still pretty much an individual sport and her scores are currently far better than Anjum. Btw on another note Mehuli Ghosh is also a possibility in individual depending upon early performances in 2020.

She hasn't shot well in mixed. Maybe just 1 event in finals WC in mixed not so great shooting. More over Anjum -Divyansh have been fantastic in mixed. So its basically Elavenil and Apurvi for mixed for 1 spot. Elavenil can be given more opportunities in mixed to know better.

But can anyone confirm if Anish can get the quota for 25m by present ranking. I hope he can as the other countries above him have the max 2 quotas. Only Ukraine is nearby with one quota. It will be the 16th quota then.

Easily. He has a high mqs hence easily he will qualify from reallocations even if it's not ranking.

Since we do not have a quota in mixed, only the shooters who are in the squad ;can be pair events. NRI as to decide who would be the 2 ten metre rifle shooters..... They would be conducting a trial I think it would be apurvi and valairavan......

They would need to exchange chinki yadavs for anjum if she gets dropped from 10M rifle and then anjum could shoot in 3 position and also be part of pairs if required...... Let us see who the shooters in 10M rifle are likely to be.........
