nitinsanker 179 Posted September 16, 2019 #8823 Share Posted September 16, 2019 Greco Roman Finally ended ......comparatively Decent results today , both manish ( 60 ) and gurpreet ( 77 ) won a bout ....... add that to ravi ( 97 ) , So one of the first objectives was met that they win a few bouts at least , second wish was they reach the quarters that did not happen , Manish and Ravi reached the pre quarters , Gurpreet was the pick of the greco from India , he lost a close bout to nemes who was the world champion in 2017 ......... so that was a moral win ....... strength does not come from physical capacity but from an indomitable will. - Gandhi
Dolby 712 Posted September 16, 2019 #8824 Share Posted September 16, 2019 (edited) Seema starts of against Stadnik in Rd of 16. If she wins against Stadnik (not happening), next up could be RUS. And Stadnik needs to defeat Sun/Irie in Semifinals to pull Seema in repechage, where she will have to defeat Nigeria and Russia to get quota. Quota chance is there. A fresh Stadnik should be favourite in semifinal specially in case of a energy sapping quarterfinal between Sun and Irie. Vinesh starts against Sophie Mattsson in Qualifiers. Next could be Mukaida in Rd of 16 and Sarah Hildebrandt in Quarters. Winner of this quarter should be favourite in Semis so once again chance is there in Repechage. But, very tough draw. sanjaydas 9 Posted September 17, 2019 #8826 Share Posted September 17, 2019 If Vinesh has to win at the Olympics, she has to get past the Russians, the USA and also from the Central European competitors. What is the fuss about tough draw!! This is why we always lose. We get so awed by the opponent.
Dolby 712 Posted September 17, 2019 #8827 Share Posted September 17, 2019 As expected, Vinesh and Seema lost to Mariya and Mukaida. Both still has good chances of going to repechage and winning quota there. Even if we fail to win quota here, China and Japan winning quotas is good for us as it will make our job easier at Asian qualifiers. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy you beast. Yet another top 10 scalp for him. This time in XD alongside Ashwini Ponappa: Indonesian pair of Jordan/Oktavianti (WR7).

Good analysis, went exactly as you said.... Mukaida was in breathtaking form...... Her sweeping VSU against Sarah also tells me that vinesh has a chance against Sarah............should she beat the rest which she can do...... Seema seems quite sure of quota tomorrow I think ...... So I dream of two quotas and a medal Edited September 17, 2019 by nitinsanker Dolby 1 strength does not come from physical capacity but from an indomitable will. - Gandhi
nitinsanker 179 Posted September 17, 2019 #8829 Share Posted September 17, 2019 What a day for Indian boxing all four in the pre quarters reached quarters......... Amit demolished the TUR boxer pretty easily a 5:0 boxing lesson, kavinder against a unranked FIN started well ......round 1,2 he was well ahead but had a poor 3rd and came ahead 3:2 ...... Manish was really impressive against a 4th seeded MGL, he is really fast, won a fine 5:0 , Sanjeet I was really impressed by, he was really good against world no 2 UZB...... A real 4:1 thrashing which should have been 5:0 IMHO strength does not come from physical capacity but from an indomitable will. - Gandhi
