Sadly TMZ, shitty as celebrity sites like this may be, is generally not known to be wrong. Also: reporters from among others ESPN have mentioned it has been confirmed to them by local law enforcement.

I'm totally shocked...:cry:

 

one of my favourite athletes all time, pound for pound...:(

 

the accident happened a couple of hours ago in Calabasas, California...the helicopter he was flying with crashed and took fire, leaving no chance to Kobe and the other members of the crew (apparently there are 4 more deads other than Kobe)...

Apparently ABC News came with a rumour (?) saying his daughters were on the helicopter as well..

I’m saving my memories of Kobe for the podcast today, but this is such a shock. I’d been hard at work trying to put together some results books for 2019 African Games, and @Vojthas messaged me. I’d be offline for so long, and it’s just unbelievable. Really holding back tears right now.
