Update from the Danish Badminton conflict.

The Board of Badminton Denmark has chosen not to continue negotiating beacuse they can't accept the leader of the Players' Association, Mads Oeland. According to Badminton Denmark the reason why they won't continue to negotiate with Mads Oeland is that they received "threats" about compensation for the missed training sessions in the Elite center.

Other "threats":

- Threats to open negotiations outside of Badminton Denmark with federal sponsors.

- Requirements for continuation of the elite program in unchanged form, even if there is no applicable collective agreement between the parties.

- Badminton Denmark does not want to negotiate a new collective national team agreement with a gun for the forehead.

- The only reaction Badminton Denmark has received from the Players' Association in the last 14 days is two mails on Friday 30 November. The two mails contain, among other things, threats regarding the submission of claims for compensation due to the suspension of the elite program, and threats to open negotiations outside of Badminton Denmark with the federal sponsors, as well as requirements for continuation of the elite program in unchanged form.

They say it's not a healthy way of negotiating. Badminton Denmark will try to negiotiate with the players through the Players' Council, instead of the Players' Association.

This is all of course from Badminton Denmark's perspective. We haven't heard anything from Mads Oeland or the players yet.

A quick update from the Danish badminton conflict.

The players meet today to discuss yesterday's statement from Badminton Denmark. After today's meeting, the players still fully support Mads Oeland as their negotiator.

"I just have to confirm that the positions and the mandate of Mads Oeland are backed 100 percent by our players. He has not done one thing or put a comma for which we do not stand. Whom we choose must stand for our bill. Then you can discuss whether it's a good or bad choice. I do not want to be in the media", says Jan O. Joergensen.

"It's a bit childish that they try to ask who negotiates for us. We have tried to accommodate them on some points, and we have had some constructive negotiations so far. We stand together as a group, and we stand for everything Mads Oeland and the Player Association convey further", elaborates Anders Skaarup.

Whew it's getting more and more dramatic.
