it took them in Australia 40 years to apologize for this guy on banning him of participating at 1972 Olympics and 46 years to recognize his heroic action during 1968 olympics , both of them were after he died , btw he still holds the Australian record in men's 200m till now with 20.06 sec. , btw the AOC president is still sure that his NOC didn't do something wrong for him despite finishing his career and excluding him from anything related to sport in the country even in Sydney 2000 Olympics , what a shame !

Woah, Brigita Virbalytė-Dimšienė almost broke the national record in 20km Race Walk with a HUGE PB of 1:29:02 (bettered by a minute and the NR was 1:29:01) and 10th place in the World Race Walk Team Championships  Vaiciukevičiūtė twins finishing 25th and 50th respectively and I believe we placed 5th amongst the teams and that's some good money for our race walkers :)

:MEX Guadalupe Gonzalez retains her title

And this time thanks to her own efforts, which gave her a 24 seconds lead.

Without a doubt, our best athlete in the last 3 years, and the best race walker in the last 30.

It’s odd too since the theme of their latest multi-sports events have reconciliation with their native population.

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela
