:CAN Erik Guay (2011 Downhill World Champion, 2017 Super-G World Champion and 2010 Super-G World Cup winner) has announced his retirement effective immediately. He was initially planing to retire at the end of the season but Manuel Osborne-Paradis' training crash yesterday prompted him to rethink competing this year.

:ITA Elena Fanchini (alpine skiing) decided to retire today.

Did she? On this Italian website, she explains she has not announced any form of retirement from the sport. She will go back to Italy and recover from her injury, and then she will decide her future.

:CAN Alex Gough had a demo slide in Calgary before the World Cup event and is officially retired :bye:

And her teammate Sam Edney didn't want a farewell slide like that but was very much present in the festivities as well, also for him it was goodbye.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!
