Yea, you can't go without fruit of the season for each IOC member lol

And they can’t eat in a 3 Star room :p

Yeah big loss for skating :(. The IOC and their ridiculous demands are to blame though.

Partially, indeed.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Considering that skating is arguably one of the more competitve events with 3/4 continents able to win medals and one about to emerge (South America with Colombia), it boggles the mind to cut quotas there.

Though having ice dance and pairs equal (so minus 8 quotas) would not do much. Meaning speed skating is going to lose a sizeable chunk. The way short track is set up, I do not think you can cut quotas.

oh, if you listen to some idiots of the IOC, you can always go down to 16 individuals in 500m & 1000m and 18 in 1500m + only 4 teams in the relays, with a direct final (thus cutting athletes and competition rounds, to make the whole sessions more tv-friendly)...

remember, there's no limit to those bunch of *** :bones:

I just can't believe they can even consider removing quotas from figure skating. :yikes: That's a ridiculously popular sport for Winter standards, which already has limited participation given its depth.

Seriously though, I used to lurk around a figure skating forum I stumbled across, and let me tell you, for each major event they get thousands and thousands of posts. :yikes: It's completely incomparable to Totallympics.

Whatever they do, FIS and IBU should hurry up already and give a clue as to how qualification will go.

The FIL shared this image on their Instagram today. This track looks really cool. Without seeing the full run in a bobsled, it looks like a starters track to me, but I could be wrong. Either way, I think it will be a world class venue.38E30277-C3EB-4E35-9874-FF54C7295048.jpeg

Besides, isn't it even finished yet? That'd be utterly bizarre by now.

Construction has definitely started, I just couldn’t find any pictures of that yet.
