Henry_Leon 1,221 Posted May 28, 2017 #254 Share Posted May 28, 2017 Congratulations at Dumoulin he deserved the win!!! Nibali 3rd (and only Italian stage win) not much for Italy, but Bravo for what he did Other two Italians in Top 10 final ranking: Pozzovivo #6 and formolo #10 We saw a great edition #100 of Giro, thanks at many cyclists that fight every day (sometimes from the start of the stages.....) heywoodu 13,540 Posted May 30, 2017 Author #255 Share Posted May 30, 2017 (edited) Now Dutch media is getting filled with people and newspapers saying "yeah but Dumoulin isn't the first Dutch Giro winner, Marianne Vos already won the women's Giro!!!" One of the biggest newspapers even had a 'quote' from Vos as headline: "Sorry Tom, but I was the first Dutch Giro winner", which resulted in Vos going to Twitter very quickly to publicly say she never said something like that and she considers Dumoulin the first Dutch Giro winner like everyone else (because the women's Giro is not actually a Grand Tour, it's of course a nice race to win but it's merely a normal stage race, I believe only a week or so and with way shorter stages) Edited May 30, 2017 by heywoodu If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
