Kubrat Pulev also said that if things go through he would be interested in going on another Olympics. This could make boxing one of the high-profile sports at the Games and i think AIBA are already counting their chickens. Let's see what the Profi organisations will say about it.

Putting pro boxers and amateur boxers in the same ring without helmets is let's say interesting.

I think AIBA is doing it way too fast. You just can't change something so big months before the Olympics when a big part of the field has already qualified...

They should implement this for 2020, so the whole qualification process can start with everyone being eligible from the beginning.

Obviously professionals should eventually be allowed, because that's the exact reason why boxing is such a joke as Olympic sport, but with professionals it could finally become a real Olympic sport :)

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Our boxers are dropping out like flies. Four men remain and two of them haven't even had their first match. At least the women are doing well though it's a shame that the bracket makers made the top two boxers (CAN and USA) fight in the quarterfinals in the -60kg. We should be the favourite in the other two events to qualify, but we'll see.

Marco Huck said that he wants to compete in Rio, but we already have a qualified athlete in his weight category ...

He might try to qualify in an other weight category or he could also compete for Serbia.

Jürgen Brähmer, Felix Sturm and Artur Abraham dont want to compete in Rio. In general i think that not many german pros (if any) will try to compete in Rio.

I think most pros can only loose at the olympic games. They have to fight in a completely new system with only 3 rounds instead of 12 and they dont earn anything. Not to talk about what would happen if a pro looses at the olympic games ...
