dcro 10,179 Posted January 26, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Some great scores were achieved at today's WC Grand Prix in Florida (3rd week of Global Dressage Festival). Including 68.920% for Manfredi. Now that is surely Argentinian record and a great boost for them. Apart from Florida World Cup, we also have WC in Amsterdam and jumping WC in Zurich this weekend. #banbestmen
dcro 10,179 Posted January 28, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Isabell Werth & Weihegold victorious in Amsterdam with 90.720% Great highlight for otherwise anti-climactic competition. Btw, five Dutch riders in top 8 but none of them on podium. Edited January 28, 2017 by dcro #banbestmen

dcro 10,179 Posted January 30, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted January 30, 2017 Michael Jung has published his competition plan for the season. Major competitions Rolex Kentucky - Rocana and Takinou Badminton Horse Trials - Sam European Championships - Lennox (!!) His (current) selection for the Europeans is 9-year old Lennox, who still hasn't competed in a single 3* competition! If Jung can pull this of then there's really no doubt about who's the best event rider ever. #banbestmen

dcro 10,179 Posted February 4, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted February 4, 2017 What a jump-off in Bordeaux WC. Four of the former/current World No. 1 riders knocked the same fence down! And that fence wasn't knocked by anyone in the initial round. This caused a very much surprising podium with Epaillard as the winner. Also, it appears as though Guido Klatte and Max Kuhner have now secured their tickets for the WC final. On the other hand, some top names are really struggling to secure their places, and they have only one more chance at the last qualifier in Gothenburg later this month! #banbestmen
dcro 10,179 Posted February 8, 2017 Author #17 Share Posted February 8, 2017 New Zealand's Wendi Williamson & Dejavu have won the Asia/Pacific regional final in dressage last weekend and have thus qualified for the WC final in Omaha. This is the first time in history of WC (established in 1986) that a Kiwi rider has qualified for final. However, going all the way to Nebraska for one competition is not an easy decision for her, but hopefully she will go. In any case, New Zealand is building a very nice team in dressage, they will certainly turn a few heads at the WEG next year. #banbestmen
