Not sure if I will log in during this year, so I may as well do it now.

Happy New Year to each and every Totallympian. :cheer: May we all have a great year and very enjoyable Summer Olympics (even for @phelps' standards :old:).

I know it’s New Years Eve since our local Sheriff’s office put out PSA telling people not fire their guns straight into the air, since the bullets will come back down and hurt people

he should make a trip to some Italian cities (especially in the south of Italy or in the big northern cities with a lot of people with southern heritage)...:facepalm:

here it's just 9 p.m. and I could already hear at least a couple of "bombs" (I mean, those are not true fireworks, they are really homemade bombs)...

I imagine what's gonna happen in the next 3 hours or so...:yikes:

Yes, but it’s more the fact that we constantly have to remind people not shoot guns straight into the air, into hurricanes (to quote “blow it back to Europe”), etc. that’s really just insane.

I didn't even know about that. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Never too late to learn something new before closing the year, feliz ano novo :cheer:

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

People generally say one of two things:

- Gelukkig nieuwjaar (happy new year)

- Beste wensen (best wishes)

The second one is a bit more formal.
