In just her second competition of this new FIS Cross-Country season she was back again on top of the World Cup podium in the ladies' 10 km classic interval start competition. Close behind her was Finland's Krista Parmakoski +4.6 second back and in third for the second day in a row was Heidi Weng of Norway +12.7 seconds off the lead. Niskanen completed the 15 km classic course in a time of 35:27.6, which was good enough for a winning margin of 10.2 seconds ahead of Norway's Emil Iversen. In third, also from Norway was Martin Johnsrud Sundby +11.2 seconds behind. With his third place result today, Sundby joins Axel Teichmann and Lukas Bauer as the only athletes with three podium finishes in this event in Ruka. It was a tight day of racing with just 33 seconds separating the top 10 athletes, who represented 5 different countries.
