No, host quotas are there only in case if the host fail to qualify anyone. #banbestmen
mrv86 2,923 Posted April 5, 2016 #43 Share Posted April 5, 2016 Mexican Federation has oficially selected Kenia Lechuga and Juan Carlos Cabrera, both in single sculls, as the Mexican rowers for Rio; they will give an additional chance to the doubles boat to qualify in the last regatta (this time in M2x) if they clock a good time this weekend. It will be a local competition; I imagine that if they post a time nearing that of the boats that qualified at last years world championships, the Federation will send them to the qualification event in Europe. dcro 10,179 Posted April 7, 2016 #46 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Brazil chose lightweight double in both men's and women's division. #banbestmen
dcro 10,179 Posted April 11, 2016 #47 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Some news from Latin American qualifications. Looks like Chile confirmed men's single sculls quota and women's light doubles quota, meaning that Paraguay gets reallocation for women's event. http://www.mega.cl/la-roja/team-chile/21272-melita-abraham-y-josefa-veliz-clasificaron-a-rio-2016.html Meanwhile, Paraguayan Olympic committee and rowing federation are claiming that they received reallocation in both men's and women's single sculls. http://www.adndigital.com.py/rivarola-y-mosqueira-van-a-los-juegos-olimpicos-de-rio/ Don't know how they got it in men's singles, that should be possible only if Ecuador refused it. #banbestmen
dcro 10,179 Posted April 11, 2016 #48 Share Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) This is getting confusing, Both Ecuador and Venezuela are also claiming that they received reallocation in men's single sculls! That should be possible only if some country that initially qualified in men's singles received a reallocation in men's doubles (maybe Uruguay?) At least the situation is clear for women's events. All three reallocations were made in women's single sculls (poor El Salvador). Argentina, Paraguay and Peru received them. dcro 10,179 Posted April 11, 2016 #49 Share Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) Okay, so Paraguay is most definitely qualified for both men's and women's single sculls. But this doesn't really solve the mystery about other quotas! Edited April 11, 2016 by dcro #banbestmen
Vojthas 947 Posted April 11, 2016 #50 Share Posted April 11, 2016 According to wikipedia Paraguay takes W1x so the only case now is confirmation of Venezuela (M1x or LM2x).
