Many countries are only just beginning to take an interest in Paralympic sports, so that we are going to see surges in performance as they identify athletes and invest in them for the first time. It's one of the reasons we see so many world records as the pool of talent grows from a relatively small base at each successive Games. I'm surprised to see Japan doesn't seem to have that interest in Paralympic sports. Stopped watching sports, there are better things in life. Even leaving aside the fact that they are the next hosts, my impression is that Japan is a country with a strong record on disability issues. My guess is that 2020 will lead to a change of attitude if not before then after the experience of hosting the Games.

Griff88 1,729 Posted September 11, 2016 #335 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Malaysia was amazing with 2 golds. Sadly we don't have Malaysian members here Meanwhile another hope of Indonesian medal was lost after David Jacobs (table tennis) crashed out in the 1st knock out round
Nickyc707 305 Posted September 11, 2016 #336 Share Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Wow, missed the athletics as I was watching the rowing. Shocked to see Fearnley and in particular Hug beaten.
