How is this news exactly?

What do you think, how these red and orange bars get generated, if not with location tracking? It's a form of passive crowdsourcing. ;)

Right, but those are created using data we’ve all consented to, and are aware that it’s being used for that purpose.

Oh my, what are they saying, using our phones with internet and all kinds of networks we're connected to leads to companies tracking us?! WTF :yikes: Who would have thought

Yes, yes we’ve all thought that, but we’ve never actually been able to see just how it can be used. A lot of this data also comes from apps that most people don’t know share location data.

We all knew they were doing this, but just seeing how accurate they can be without any work is terrifying.

I'm exactly as terrified about this as I was before reading that post: not.

Actually, no. Most people are not aware that their location is being used to generate this, even if they have technically consented to it when buying the device. :p

At college we have covered this topic quite thoroughly. Basically every gadget has GPS tracker these days, so there is no running away from it (unless you get yourself a jammer or similar (illegal) device).

That article did start with some shocking revelations though. There are people in the Pentagon, and at some beach :yikes: What the hell

If you have a smartphone (because cell phones are sooo old school) and a social media account you can be tracked down in like 20 seconds anywhere in the world. The rise of technology has made the whole security thing so irrelevant  I bet even the most liberal hard-liners don't believe it's a conspiracy theory anymore.

Hello Sir, I have a plot on moon I would like to sell. Are you interested?

I’d prefer the dark side, but I’m willing to negotiate.

I was just listening to “Uncomfortably Numb” a few minutes ago. However, I was actually had this song in my head at the time:
