On a side-note, I’m trying to choose a second language (besides very basic Spanish) to learn. I’m down to Norwegian, Frisian, Afrikaans, or Esperanto. But I’m not sure which one to choose.

Not Frisian, because it sounds like a mentally handicapped version of Dutch. Not Esperanto because what? Afrikaans is awesome but only if you know Dutch as a native speaker, because half of the worlds in Afrikaans sound really funny or 'cute' or something. I love hearing or reading it, but I think for someone who doesn't speak native Dutch it's much less interesting.

Norwegian is actually useful, also in following certain sports, so that. :p

But Esperanto is the universal language that everyone speaks :p. Frisian is apparently the closest language to English. I’ve started basic Afrikaans and I agree. I do think I’ll try to learn Norwegian because then it’s easy to learn Danish and Swedish as well.

Maybe if English and Dutch got pregnant together and used a ton of crack, XTC, crystal meth and godknowswhatelse during the pregnancy, followed by a 6-week premature birth, Frisian would be the result.

So I assume you’re from the Frisian regions then :p
