My prediction would be: 1) USA 2) Germany 3) Spain Also: Anyone else worried about Sweden? Their strategy seems rather "optimistic" ... Brazil surely will be in this top 3. I have no doubts after the last president speech konig
heywoodu 13,540 Posted March 27, 2020 #2104 Share Posted March 27, 2020 Finally, pharmaceutical giant Roche has decided to share their recipe for a crucial fluid needed for testing, meaning the number of tests can finally be increased relatively soon... Meanwhile the prime minister kept going with the pretty unprecedented advices for people's daily life. This time specifically he stressed how important it is - now more than ever - to stay healthy and fit, so he urged everyone to, quote, "Get at least 7.5-8 hours of sleep, eat healthy, make sure you go and get fresh air and excersise if you are able to do so". Heeded his words and went for a one hour run: fresh air (apart from the fields where farmers have just spread cow shit around to make things grow better) and excersise Wanderer 1 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! I fear we're yet to see the true disaster coming off this virus...and it won't be related to the health system and the number of deaths directly caused by it... Yeah, also countries who did manage to build up more significant financial reserves than those who are all the time having financial troubles are having their own big virus troubles by now, so it's not a simple matter of just shoving stuff around, even though people like to think it is. But yeah, it's a rather hard issue as to how to deal with this. Populist politicians going around and saying "this and that country are out to destroy us!" are a nasty bunch, using this for their own political gain once this thing has settled down. pdr4332 1 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Populist politicians going around and saying "this and that country are out to destroy us!" are a nasty bunch, using this for their own political gain once this thing has settled down. As I said to some one a few days ago, Italy and the EU is like two persons sitting atop of a big pile of high explosive, where both persons hold a cigarette lighter in their hands and threaten the other with finally using the lighter. As both are going to explode no matter which lights up the lighter, the better course of action is maybe doing something else This is going to be very hard to resolve yes, but in the end both parties are interested in not to escalate this. The collapse of the €-zone is going to hurt everyone in Europe (not only those who use the €), and the disruption caused by that would make the current crisis pale in comparison, so it is common interest for everyone to work to avoid that. Short term electoral politics is going to influence all this, sadly (There are elections in GER next year, i think also in NED, there can by an election any time in ITA), which will affect the leader's ability and willingness to compromise. But compromise will have to be made by both sides.
rybak 2,684 Posted March 27, 2020 #2109 Share Posted March 27, 2020 With today's 168 new cases (2 less than yesterday!) total number of cases jumps to 1389, no new deaths today. "Good" day...
