phelps 6,536 Posted February 7, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) thanks mainly to their domination in Kata, Turkey lead the medal table after day #1 with 3 Gold Medals, followed by Italy with 2 Gold Medals (also, all of them in Kata)... then, we have a bunch of Nations with 1 Gold Medal each... in particular, in 8 Kumite Cadets weight classes, we have 8 different Countries winning the Gold Medal... in total, after day #1, we already have 26 different Nations winning at least 1 medal... p.s. @hckosice hey, man! Slovakia have already 4 medals (3 Silver & 1 Bronze) that's almost powerhouse-alike numbers! Edited February 7, 2020 by phelps hckošice

phelps 6,536 Posted February 8, 2020 Author #6 Share Posted February 8, 2020 and then came the day of Azerbaijan... in fact, they were the absolute dominant force of the Junior Kumite classes, with 3 Gold Medals (all in the men's division, though) and 1 Silver (this one among the girls)... except for Azerbaijan's exploit, however, also today the remaining 6 Kumite Gold medals were won by 6 different Nations... the only Country capable of adding together a Kumite and a Kata Gold medal was Turkey, meanwhile Italy confirmed themselves way better in Kata than in Kumite... because of these results, Turkey are still on top of the Medal Table with 5 Gold medals, followed by Azerbaijan with 4 and Italy with 3 Gold Medals... phelps 6,536 Posted February 9, 2020 Author #8 Share Posted February 9, 2020 so, once again Turkey proved the true European powerhouse in youth Karate... this year they won 15 medals (6 Gold, 3 Silver & 6 Bronze) and dominated the medal table ahead of France and Azerbaijan, both finishing the championship with 4 Gold medals each (FRA won more "side" medals)... then Italy ended up in 4th place in the medal table with 3 Gold medals, unfortunately (shamefully) all of them in Kata... following ITA, a small group of Nations with 2 Gold medals and some more with 1 Gold medal each... in total, we have 18 Nations winning at least 1 Gold medal and 36 winning at least 1 medal (no matter the colour)...
