From India Govt.

Gold - 7.5 million - 100600.57 

Silver -  5 million - 67067.04 

Bronze -  3 million -40240.23 €

 

And different state governments had announced different amounts for sportspersons from their states

for example

Haryana

Gold -  60 million - 804804.52 €

Silver -  40 million - 536536.35 

Bronze -  25 million - 335335.22

and every athlete qualified for rio will get  1.5 million as prize money (22 athletes from the state)

 

Uttar Pradesh 

Gold -  60 million - 804804.52 €

Silver -  40 million - 536536.35 

Bronze -  20 million - 268268.17 

 

Gujarat

Gold -  50 million - 670670.44 

Silver -  30 million - 402402.26 

Bronze -  20 million - 268268.17 

etc

 

And different sports federations will give their athletes some prize money too..like saina nehwal got   2.5 million - 33533.522€ for her london bronze etc

The previous posters are right, for example on Hungary's page it says 151 athletes qualified for the OG, while according to my recent information it is 158 or 159.

For some nit-picking: the site says "Hungarians are strong at fencing and the canoe sprint". For the first, WERE or USED TO BE is the appropriate word :d

I think this is the main reason why so many athletes from poor countries decide to dope, who wouldnt?
