CCB 422 Posted October 16, 2019 #22 Share Posted October 16, 2019 (edited) Dutch teamsprinters still first in qualifying, but GB comes close again. Only 0,24 between and . At this year's WCh the gap between these teams was 1,13. GB always at their best with the Olympic Games coming .... , not really a surprise, but still annoying ... No one is building outdoor tracks anymore. Watched a film of the 1953 TdF. About half the stages finished at outdoor tracks which doubled as football or rugby stadiums. Not many left now, I bet. We always change the team about a lot during Years 1-3, then consolidate in Year 4 of the Olympic cycle. So that’s why we get better. phelps 6,537 Posted October 16, 2019 #27 Share Posted October 16, 2019 I'm so disappointed with our girls of the Team Pursuit! they just improved marginally during these last 3 years, meanwhile many other Nations are cutting their times down by seconds from championship to championship...now we're far behind the Germans, too... and in Italy someone still talk of them as medal candidates...it will be a great success should they just qualify to the Olympics... De_Gambassi 896 Posted October 16, 2019 #28 Share Posted October 16, 2019 à l’instant, Grassmarket a dit : Watched a film of the 1953 TdF. Yes at some point, virtually every large stadium in the country served also a velodrome (Parc des Princes, Parc Lescure, Gerland and well Marseille's velodrome to name a few). There were hundreds of them, nowadays, there must be a dozen left. Too bad, we could have used them to learn how to run a pursuit team...
