Can we get sort of a headcount of people who are as sure as they can be that they will or will not be here on Saturday? Obviously except for special and sudden circumstances :p It could make it a bit easier for the hosts to know whether or not they should post someone's votes or wait.

The Netherlands will be present, so if I'm late for some reason (I get distracted easily, but I'll set an alarm), just mention me and I should be here.

I'll be "babysiting" parents visiting us here in amsterdam so will only be able to follow it on mobile from time to time.... :(

With the Grand Final getting close, we can welcome @dezbee2008, @Olympian1010, @thepharoah and @DaniSRB to Kolding, hometown of Blaue Blume who competed at the 2015 Annual Contest.

Kolding dates to the second half of the 1100s and for most of the medieval times it was one of the most important cities of the country, including having the castle Koldinghus as an occasional Royal residence for a few hundred years. Due to wars and Plague the city suffered and had trouble growing due to taxes. During the Napoleonic wars, some Spanish mercenaries started a fire at Koldinghus by accident burning major parts down to the ground. Only in the 1890’s restoration of the castle began, finishing about a 100 years later. During these years the city grew steadily becoming the 7th largest city of our country.

Kolding is most known for its men’s handball team who has won the Danish Championships a record 14 times. Among the major athletes from the city, two-times Olympic Silver Medalist in heaveweight boxing, Søren Petersen and former Liverpool midfielder Jan Mølby.

As you may have guessed, Koldinghus would be a place that we recommend to visit. Both to see the historic building in a new form but also due to its highly interesting exhibitions. Trapholt Arts museum, a look around in the historic center or by Kolding fiord are also worth the time. And how about bit of pizza? Kolding likes to call themselves Slice-town for a reason!!

We can now welcome @Werloc, @justony and @Belle to what many calls the capitol of Danish Music, Roskilde. This is also the city where Communions can be said to have had their breakthrough.

Roskilde dates to about 1000 AD and became the Christian center of Denmark only some 20 years later. The city grew rapidly due to the important role of the church where Roskilde was the preferred city to whoever wanted to stay close to the important people of the Danish church. Slowly the city declined as Copenhagen grew and with the Reformation the city lost it’s position as religious center. With the introduction of the Railway the city became a major city again becoming a bit of a satellite city. Nowadays Roskilde is the 10th largest city in Denmark, but for one week every year it’s unofficially the 4th largest as 130.000 guests from all around the world visit for the Roskilde Festival, one of the most popular music festivals in Europe.

In sports, FC Roskilde plays in the Danish 1st division in football. Roskilde will also host the start of the 2nd Stage of the 2021 Tour de France. Several major sports stars are however from Roskilde, among who Thomas Ebert from the legendary Danish lightweight coxless four winning Olympic gold in both 2004 and 2008, men’s doubles silver medalist in badminton, Carsten Mogensen and F1-driver Kevin Magnussen are among the more well-known.

We will make sure that you will be able to spend your time here. Roskilde Cathedral with the tombs of most Danish kings and queens and the Viking Ship museum are both very interesting historical sights, while the former Roskilde Royal Mansion has a lovely museum of contemporary art. And of course, as you’re here for a music contest, we would very much advice you to visit Ragnarock, museum of rock, pop and youth culture.

So we're bringing TOISC more back to basic, I like it :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!
