Do GB have their strongest riders at these champs? Dowsett’s our best TT specialist outside of Thomas (who hasn’t really prepared) & Froome, off sick. At that ranking they would only get 1 athlete quota, but have two time trial quotas (15th place will have to give their quota up to fulfill the continental obligations). That would mean the quota obtained at the World Champs will be reallocated to Great Britain. Or France could fill the 2nd time trial spot with someone already entered in track cycling. Really? I guess technically it says that it goes to NOCs which have qualified to the road race (which France has fulfilled), but I think they also meant that they need enough places. France does have eligible track athletes that could compete in the time trial, but they do have strict eligibility criteria.
