They changed the rules for 2020, only nations with no quotas are eligible and eligible nations can only receive one quota. Add in the maximum of two quotas per event and we're pretty much guaranteed that not all tripartite quotas will be used.

However, unused Tripartite places will be reallocated to still unqualieid nations. So they will all find a good home, so to speak. phelps 6,526 Posted September 7, 2019 #29 Share Posted September 7, 2019 after 4 series out of 5, in the men's Trap qualification round we have 3 guys ( Armelim Filipe Rodrigues, Jiri Liptak and Marian Kovacocy) sharing the lead with 97/100 hits... following the top 3, we have 2 more guys ( Josip Glasnovic* and Mauro De Filippis) stuck at 96/100 and 3 ( Jukka Laakso, Aaron Heading and Nihat Akterzi) who hit 95/100... then, there's a small group of 6 shooters with 94/100... those to me are the only guys still in contention for a place in the Final...and unfortunately, once again -and this time for the last and definitive time- Pellielo and Grazini are not among those, killing any hope for Italy to have 2 male Trap specialists in Tokyo (barring an improbable switch between the already qualified members of the team in other disciplines)... * NOT pursuing the Olympic Quota Place, as he already got it... all the other named shooters instead are competing also for the OQ (also 5 of the 6 shooters at 94/100, the only already qualified guy among them being Alexey Alipov)... There should also be a chance in the European qualifier, or are there any rules for participation I am not aware of?
