I don't agree with this but NBC has paid the most to broadcast these games. Its only fair they get a say.

Europe gets their say all the time (anyone remembers ridiculous biathlon starting times at Pyeongchang? or ski jumping finishing after midnight?).

 

You can't blame someone for having interests, you can blame the organizers though for not putting the athletes in the first place.

I understand but Olympics are worldwide,pannational event,no company shoud have any influence over broadcasting times. I can understand that move ecconomicaly but this is a nail in the already layed coffin of someting called sport spirit. I still remeber Beijing finals 3.00 am by Montenegrin time. Torture to be honest. Not to mention that athletes are severely punished with this news. Having a final in 11 am or even before...just terrible.

I totally agree. Why should another network influence times in another country? Too me I don't think it should be the case. However, NBC should have the right to say what they would like.
