I don’t want to start anything, but this definitely a skit about @brunamoura and @heywoodu right?

I am glad you are wrong ?

@heywoodu is such an amazing man, nothing to do with that guy.

But I can't deny I am laughing at this ??

P.S.: our house won't be about Smurfs, but sports, probably ??

I haven't watched it, but this take still seems rather "creative" in my mind ...

It's rating on IMDb isn't great and after all it is a show about superheroes ...

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7049682/

Have you watched "The Boys" yet? Based on the reviews many people seem to think that Watchmen isn't even the best TV show about superheroes currently running.

I have to say that for me there currently isn't much going on when it comes to TV shows. Curb, Fargo, Rick & Morty, True Detective, Modern Family and Better Call Saul are all on a break and for me there really isn't a "must-watch" TV show right now (although many seem to consider "Stranger Things" just that). I just finished watching "Fleabag" and it was ok (better than must other current shows), now i am watching "Vikings" and it is quite entertaining, despite being far worse quality-wise than shows like "The Sopranos", "The Wire" or "Breaking Bad" (but i guess that is true for 99 % of all shows).

Watchmen has been super underrated. You either also enjoy most HBO shows or hate all of them. There’s not a lot of middle ground. You also have to like very political, racial, and otherwise challenging themes to enjoy Watchmen. A conservative would most likely also hate it because it does push a lot of liberal ideology.

I haven’t watched “The Boys” personally, but it’s been recommended, and I have Amazon so I’ll get around to it soon. I do know that people that have watched “The Boys” say the “Watchmen” is better in their opinion.

I’m not huge fan of those shows. I like the “new age” of television (Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Hulu). I like tv shows that feel more like movies, and tell better more complex stories. Huge fan of “Vikings”.

So excited for this. Really grew to like Young Pope towards the end. It portrayed many of problems in saw in my faith growing up. Seriously can’t wait for this season?show?!

That's the modern day paradox, atheists and agnostics seem to be more interested in the Pope or movies about religion or the Pope than Christians. I'm a Christian but I don't watch any religious movies and wouldn't waste 5 seconds on a TV series about the Pope. Religion in movies is flat out boring and a waste of my time :dunno:

Reminds me from another forum when most threads about certain tennis players were filled by comments from the player's haters rather than fans. Religion suffers from the same paradox, the majority of people who want to talk about religion actually doesn't believe in God in first place

Well this show is highly critical of the Catholic Church, so catholics not being into to it makes sense. The reason it appeals to me (an agnostic) is because it shows many of my criticisms of the church. While the show focus on a pope, or in this case two, it’s not really actually about a pope. The show is seriously dramatic and comedic, while asking serious questions about faith, organized religion, philosophy, and morality.

I think the reason most people of faith don’t want to talk about their faith is because they know if they critically about it they’ll find holes, and that scares the living shit out of religious people. People who’ve thought critically about religion are the ones who no longer belong to a church. Religion takes faith and belief, and people who have seriously thought about their religion generally come to find a lack of one or both.

The question is why would you spend time in finding holes in your faith to begin with? People usually have better things to do especially when you include job, family and maybe mortgage payments in America. I'm a Christian and obviously I'm familiar with the centuries-old struggle for power between the Church (not only Catholic but every religion there is including Judaism, Islam etc.), politicans and journalists. I know the rules of the game and nobody has changed it. Hell, you can include buddhism, Kaballah and all that spiritual shit which is no different than any of the standard religions. So even agnostics and atheists are people of faith. It's the common drug, I despise communism and socialism but Marx was right about "opium of the people". Even agnostics & atheists need something like this, they may not call it religion but it's something out there.

One of the funniest skits they’ve done this season. Honestly how Christmas will go this year for most people.

Watchmen finally proving that HBO can write a good ending on occasion. What a season, what a show for the time we live in. Asks a lot of big moral questions, and I am here for it. I’d say 10/10, and I’d totally recommend giving it a shot.

This, on the other hand, is the excruciating typical image people have here of the forced thought of having to spend at least one of the days with family :p (don't really need to understand much Dutch for it)

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Shortlist of films that could be nominated for Best International Film at the 2020 Oscars:

Parasite will almost certainly win the category. It seems like Honeyland may be the only other film with a shot. I still can’t believe the Capernaum was robbed in this category last year. It was the best foreign film by a mile.
