Personally I'm at 8 or 9 (just watched it and was very pleased) Was it beautiful? Yes. Was the filming technically brilliant? Yes. Was the acting good? It wasn’t bad. Was the story entertaining? Yes/No. Was there a lack of greater significance? Yes. Was the plot as hard hitting as other WW1/WW2 movies? Yes/No. Did it leave me wanting more? Yes/No. Was the ending soft? Yes. Good film, could have been better (when compared to other top films I’ve seen this year) = 7/10. I could persuaded to upgrade to 8/10. “Sport has the power to change the world. Olympian1010 7,417 Posted January 13, 2020 #732 Share Posted January 13, 2020 I’ve seen three of these, hooping to get to 6/7 before the big day. Can’t believe “The Two Popes” wasn’t nominated. That’s the big “what!” in my opinion. The three I’ve seen: Ford v. Ferrari, Jojo Rabbit, 1917. Out of those three, Jojo Rabbit was the best film overall. It should be a four way competition between 1917, Parasite, Joker, and OUATIH. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. heywoodu 13,499 Posted January 13, 2020 #733 Share Posted January 13, 2020 It's a rare moment when I've actually seen one of the nominated movies If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

dcro 10,172 Posted January 13, 2020 #735 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Still to watch Ford v Ferrari, Jojo Rabbit, Little Women and 1917. But overall it seems like a good list, aside from overrated Joker and rather derivative Marriage Story... #banbestmen
Agger 1,576 Posted January 13, 2020 #736 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Well. I've watched one and hope for 2 more before the Oscars (Jojo Rabbit and The Irishman). But pretty much the expected list (from what I've read) while other categories were more surprising.
Bohemia 1,257 Posted January 13, 2020 #737 Share Posted January 13, 2020 The only one I want to watch on that list is Little Women. I hope How To Train Your Dragon will finally win best animated feature, it's their last chance
OlympicIRL 4,756 Posted January 13, 2020 #738 Share Posted January 13, 2020 Just in the middle of watching the 2-hour premier of HBO's adaptation of Stephen King's "The Outsider" on Sky Atlantic. I am really liking this so far. Did you get a chance to catch this @Olympian1010 ?

I have it recorded, but I choose to watch the YOG and season 2 of Lost In Space instead today. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire.
