phelps 6,792 Posted June 8, 2019 Author #21 Share Posted June 8, 2019 Italian girls are so bad that they can't even take advantage of a shamefully favourable refereeing... in the women's +67kg, Laura Giacomini lost at the Golden Point to the Mexican Briseida Acosta despite the ref tried every possible trick to send her in the semifinals... meanwhile, in the men's -58kg, Vito Dell'Aquila confirms he's in a poor phase of his career and lost once again against his bète noir, Jesus Cabrera Tortosa (also in the quarterfinals...so, even today, no medals for Italy)... phelps 6,792 Posted September 13, 2019 Author #28 Share Posted September 13, 2019 2 big mistakes never make a correct decision... if Walkden's win at the world champs was a scandal, her loss earlier today is also out of the world... the gold medal match between her and the Chinese Zheng went to the OT... and here, after a few seconds, if you watch the bout, you can clearly see and hear a hard kick from the British girl landing on the Chinese girl's chest protector, but the scoring machines gave the 2 points (and the win) to the Chinese, who clearly didn't land her kick (maybe she just touched Walkden's chest protector with the point of her nails, but surely she didn't hit the Briton hard enough to score any point)... mistery of Taekwondo, one of the most corrupted and unfair sports in the world (even with the scoring machines, which were supposed to improve a dramatic situation)... by the way, today we saw another surprising loss by Lee Dae-Hoon...he doesn't seem to be unbeatable anymore, like he used to be until a short while ago... MHSN 3,168 Posted September 13, 2019 #29 Share Posted September 13, 2019 when UK denied visa for Mirhashem Hosseini, his Olympic dream looked impossible at the time but he came back strongly , he won two back to back GPs + the Universiade, now he is in top 6 (by my calculation) btw his QF against another Iranian wasn't a real match, Soroush Ahmadi was too nice and didn't try anything, it was more like a light training session for both of them. I understand that was a wise decision from our coach's point of view (because Mirhashem is a gold medal prospect) but I'm sure Ahmadi feels terrible right now. nobody counts on him but at least he was still thinking he has a chance for the Olympic quota. (even though he would lose to Mirhashem anyway but still)
