Namibia was dealt a blow with Tristan de Lange not competing. This could potentially allow Lesotho to qualify in the men's event. The women's event is quite open once you exclude South Africa. Vorster could even challenge the best South Africans based on recent results from races in Namibia and South Africa. In one of the those races she finished some 12 minutes ahead of Halbwachs.
