since ski jumpers are beating bike riders

Can't wait to see Noriaki Kasai in the Tour de France after the Beijing Olympics.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Ciccone, lol.

The blue jersey was at stake and Ciccone is a good climber, it makes sense for him to be extremely slow (slower than the Japanese guy who ended up last) and rest in the first part and then give his all on the climb.

Stage 2
Bologna > Fucecchio

giro-d-italia-2019-stage-2-profile-ac5f1

The stage is rolling. The route starts uphill, crosses the Apennines and then takes a long descent to Prato. Next, a succession of sharper or gentler ascents and descents, including the Montalbano (Castra) categorised climb, leads to the final kilometres, raced on undulating and twisting roads.

Final kilometres

The final 4 km start on narrow urban roads, with sharp bends, followed by broad, straight avenues, with a few roundabouts in-between. The home straight (900 m) is on 7 m wide asphalt road.
