phelps 6,536 Posted February 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2019 men's All-Round (Provisional Ranking after 3/4 Events) Gold: Chung Jae-Won, 109.383 pts Silver: Sergei Loginov, 109.891 pts (+ 5.08 secs in the final 5000m) Bronze: Stepan Chistiakov, 110.486 pts (+ 11.03 secs in the final 5000m) 4th Place: Francesco Betti, 110.813 pts (+ 14.30 secs in the final 5000m Final Ranking:https://app.isuresults.eu/events/2019_ITA_0002/standings/ALLROUND_MEN Chung Jae-Won has basically won the title, since he has already a big margin over his immediate followers and he also has the best PB by far in the entire starting field. Francesco Betti is currently 4th, but he has very good chances to climb up the ranking up to the Silver medal, since his PB over 5000m is around 24 seconds better than Loginov's (and the 2nd overall among today's starters). Chistiakov has a PB over 5000m just over 2 seconds slower than his teammate Loginov, therefore he should end up outside the medals. Based on PBs only, there's no chance for any other athlete to dream of a podium finish (maybe Gabriel Odor has a remote chance to reach the 4th place overall, but the medals look too far ahead). phelps 6,536 Posted February 16, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2019 and Chistiakov instead did skate his 5000m race about 8 seconds faster than Loginov (6.53 vs 7.01) and overtakes him in the all-round ranking...

OlympicsFan 776 Posted February 16, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2019 Nice gold for Germany, although men's 5000 m and women's 3000 m were the least competitive events here. I am very disappointed by Stirnemann, she didn't fulfill her potential this time, hopefully she will do better next year. Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.
Olympian1010 7,418 Posted February 16, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 16, 2019 I believe this is a YOG qualifier, but I could be mistaken “Sport has the power to change the world.
