I'm trying to wait with getting hyped until it's actually starting this time, but it's not working very well :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

That's gonna be a festive Death Remembrance Day tomorrow.... :p

I'm happy my voting isn't at 20.00, which is when the entire nation comes to a massive standstill (including trains and all) and remains silent for two minutes.

In a house from a friend of mine they put a list with all the names and door numbers of the exported Jews that used to live on his building...

very impressive, specially for someone from a country that (luckily) was far enough from Germany and managed to escape the horrors of Second World War

Last month in our local newspaper I saw a classmate/friend of Anne Frank apparently hid from the Germans in my part of the country, including in my 'gemeente' (surely you know the word and you know it's not exactly synonymous with 'town' or something :p ).

Among other places, she stayed in the 'Hidden Village' in the woods here, where quite some Jews were hiding.

Sadly it was eventually discovered by the Germans when a boy crossed an opening in the woods to get some water and German soldiers followed him. The original huts aren't there anymore, but there are a few they rebuild to give a bit of a sense of how it was. There's not really much of a monument or info or anything except for one sign, but it's relatively deep in the woods and so pretty quiet and an interesting place to visit (and easy to do for me by bike). If you're ever on the Veluwe, let me know :p
