Matthew Glaetzer was diagnosed with thyroid cancer apparently. He should make a full recovery though.

Hopefully he'll recover in time to be in shape in Tokyo, although of course the main issue is to hope he'll be back to normal health in the first place.

Stefan Ritter (only 21) has retired. He is a former world junior champion, but suffered a huge accident last year (brain injury) and decided to end his career in the interest of his long term health.

Too bad, the few times I saw him ride, I could only imagine the potential he had
